Bio

Nominated for Best Blues Single of the Year by the L.A. Music Awards, New Blues Revolution continues a long winning streak. In 2011, the Los Angeles Blues Society invited them to host their most successful JAM session yet - proving the concept of the New Blues Revolution cuts across a broad demographic swath. They set a box office record performing at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip and draw impressive crowds at other top nightclubs (including the House of Blues in Anaheim), concerts and festivals all over the United States and Europe.

Forging a unique, distinctive style featuring Bill Grisolia's vocals and piano and Chap Cooper’s guitar, the New Blues Revolution bring exciting showmanship to a mix of high-energy New Blues numbers and ballads - deep modern rocky but soulful. A favorite of critics, The New Blues Revolution receives rave reviews from national trade magazines such as Cashbox and Music Connection.

Critics recognize NBR’s exciting talent and their extraordinary songwriting. Bill’s song "Rosarita" was honored at the Hollywood Talent Fest. Bill’s song “Heart of America” was added by Armed Forces Radio to play in 175 countries and selected by the American Red Cross Los Angeles Chapter for a video to be played at the Forum for a Wave radio station concert. Bill’s songwriting is lauded repeatedly by the legendary Hal David.

The band’s live set features songs from the EP “Blue Café”, which features guest guitarist Michael Landau (Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Barbara Streisand) and pop vocalists Lowen and Navarro. The CD was produced by multi-platinum producer/arranger, Barry Fasman (Dianna Ross, Billy Joel, Air Supply) and mixed by John Thomas (Don Henley, Bruce Hornsby). It includes the breakthrough hit “Heart of America”.

The band’s exciting live show makes for great TV. Television appearances include live satellite broadcasts from New York City to prime-time television in Spain. Broadcast performances in major U.S. television markets (UPN in Los Angeles) confirm the appeal of the band's music across the U.S. Los Angeles television appearances include KNBC, KCAL, KCOP and KMEX including the number one morning show in the LA market.

New Blues Revolution opens for a diverse range of music legends including Tab Benoit, Macy Gray, Dionne Warwick, Rick Derringer, Burt Bacharch, Leon Russell, Johnny Mathis, Blood Sweat & Tears, Three Dog Night, Michael Schenker and Katey Segal.

Bill Grisolia – Singer\Songwriter\Pianist – No matter where Bill Grisolia’s career takes him, he always brings along the music. He was elected to the last two national nominating conventions, appointed twice as a Commissioner in Long Beach becoming an advocate for the homeless and was a restaurateur, owner of the Sunfish Grill in Shoreline Village. While his first memories of life are the Spanish coast of the Mediterranean, the bilingual singer grew up in the blues rock jazz stew of Kansas City. His international career began at 18 by playing the top clubs Tres Triste Tigres and Pub Gent in the rough Barrio Del Carmen district of Valencia, Spain. Self taught, he earned himself an endorsement contract with Yamaha acoustic pianos.

Chapman Cooper – Guitarist\Composer – Before he was 12, Chapman played rhythm guitar for members of the Yardbirds and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. It was old hat to the guitarist who scored his first paying gig at age 8. Growing up among Rock's most famous legends has lead to his working with many top musicians and recording artists. Early on, Chap led the house band at Gazzari’s, a top Sunset Strip locale. These experiences color the rich array of ideas - complete with guitar stylings that "span the emotions" - of the New Blues Revolution.

Steve Harris – Bassist\Vocalist – Steve Harris spent his formative years on the road, playing with The Grass Roots and Bloodrock as well as his own jazz quartet. Steve is regularly honored for his musical achievements and was selected in 2010 as a featured bassist for the week at No Treble.com. Steve is an avid road cyclist and runner who logged 2500 miles last year on his road bike. He has completed five marathons in Los Angeles, San Diego and London.

Philip E. Hardy – Drummer\Vocalist – Phil Hardy began his high-profile drumming career in the mid 1970s, as a substitute drummer for Los Angeles punk band The Weasels, as well as jamming and recording with musicians including Dean Chamberlain, The Skulls and Marvin Etzioni of Lone Justice fame. During his long and storied career, the music critic, novelist and musician has played drums for blues and rock artists including Joe Houston and Guitar Shorty and served as opening act for the classic rock band Canned Heat.
