The New Colors

Beginning in the summer of 2007, guitarist Jared Sinclair, bassist Nick Fengler and drummer Alonso Martinez joined forces with vocal powerhouse Sammi Morelli to form The New Colors (Formerly Thieves). With each member bringing a different style and musical background, the songwriting magic was instant, and a true fusion of personalities. By fall of 2007, The New Colors had begun to storm the Vancouver music scene by force, quickly winning first place in several Supernova Battle of the Bands – advancing as far as the national level competition within 4 months of their first live show. Building off this initial exposure, the group soon started playing higher profile shows including many performances at The Media Club, The Bourbon, The Blarney Stone, and The Roxy as well as a showcase at the coveted New Music West music conference in May 2008. The classic rock guitar riffs, sophisticated, funky bass lines, modern, inventive rhythms and strong, memorable melodies give The New Colors a fresh and soulful approach to the Rock/Pop Genre which is truly unique. Where every style is fair game, The New Colors draw from blues, classic rock, funk, indie, even latin to create their signature sound.
