The New Mingle

Based in Pittsburgh, PA, The New Mingle is a duo focusing on original instrumental music favoring a quirky, funky, groove. Prior to TNM, Chris and Matt were members of the bands ouve and Ouve Azzy Runk, played over 300 shows around the Western PA area and beyond, and released 3 CDs. Working as a duo has streamlined the writing process, and brought the flexibility to do full-volume club shows, stripped down mellow sets, and just about everything in between. The New Mingle has also worked as "hired guns" for acts such as J.G. Boccella, and are 2/3 of the spoken word group Rhapsodic. Chris is the sole proprietor/instructor/author of Chris Belin's Travelling Drum School, and also freelances with a variety of regional acts. Matt performs solo guitar on occasion for different events around town, and has just released a CD as a member of The Westsylvanians. Aside from currently working on an "official" release, you'll find The New Mingle...well, mingling out and about, and maybe even with some different collaborators in the near future.
