he New Pollution are an Australian psychedelic/rock group that formed in Perth Western Australia in 2009. Its members are- Samuel Sullivan, Jessica Jaegar, Michael Ramirez, and Beau Walker although the band occasionally play live shows with additional members.
Prior to The New Pollution the band (then named Captains of King) were the 2007 Ampfest winners, the same contest tame impala won three years previous. After playing gigs like the Big Day Out and Challenge stadium and releasing their E.P the band went into hiatus. After a change in name, sound and some new members…The New Pollution were born
The band started with a bang- with their first show supporting The Dandy Warhols in Perth for their 2011 Australian tour on Tuesday May 24 @ Metropolis Fremantle
The New Pollution are currently in the process of recording their debut album which features Courtney Taylor-Taylor of The Dandy Warhols on drums and will be mixed by Courtney and Jeremy Sherrer (www.jeremysherrer.com). The record is due to be released early 2012
