Bio

TNP band members are cool, dedicated, responsible, considerate, highly intelligent like minded musicians with a great sense of humor who are open for experimentation and have a goal to play out and succeed. TNP believes that to make it in today's music world you have to have the right people daring to play their own music at the right time.

EvoL has been playing the electric guitar since high school and he's been in the field of sound/music engineering and recording since college. When EvoL & Modest Goddess started dating in 2005, they were out with some friends once and were goofing around and sang out a few notes. A friend commented that M.G. had a pretty good voice and from then on EvoL encouraged M.G. to sing. He had all the recording gear and the drive and passion to make music. They started putting some simple songs together. One of the first songs was a pop-sounding spoof on gambling.

Modest Goddess did get a referral and took singing lessons for about 6 months with a gal out in Pleasanton, CA. M.G. learned the basic mechanics and techniques to being able to control her voice. She got me more confident in her own abilities and would still like to go back to learn more.

Without a full band, TNP did a lot of electronic synth sounds to start. EvoL gets credit for really pursuing and putting ads up for drummers and bass players. CRISPy CRUIZeR came and auditioned and he was immediately interested in the music and picked up anything and everything we threw at him.

Christopher Ruiz (aka “CRISPy” CRUIZeR) [Drummer]: “CRISPy” is a multi instrumentalist featuring the Bass, Guitar, and Vocals, while also building works as a Composer over the last decade – yet his first true love of music has started with, and will always be the drums. He started playing drums since early childhood at the age of 3 and has played just about any genre under the Sun as a performing artist and session musician for various acts all over the San Francisco Bay Area. After many years of being a “hired gun” for numerous bands, working on a solo project that launched in 2007 called CRUIZeR, and a lengthy break from the scene he renewed his pursuit of a permanent slot in a Rock N’ Roll band in January 2009 joining great musicians in their quest for awesome shows and fun times. Like a true drum machine it is never a rare thing to see Chris in 3-6 different bands at the same time, taking opportunities as they come and soaking up the glory of the moments that eventually lead to an audition that left a lasting impression gaining him a slot in The New Position in April 2011 – and he has been kicking ass and taking names with TNP ever since. “The ‘craziest thing’ about this cat – he does it all with one hand. It has been said that Rick Allen (of Def Leppard) does not compare to this guy! He is truly a sight to see.”

Dr. Red Beard and EvoL have known each other since college and have shared many concert adventures. When Dr. Red Beard moved back to the bay area, he came to one of our practices and gave us great feedback and insight. We asked him to join and help us incorporate and continue the synth sounds in our music.

Sassafras found us after we'd had a few unsucessful collaborations with a couple of different bass players. She was enthusiastic about our music from the start and worked really hard to learn the songs we had already composed. She has been a great asset with her highly skilled background and her willingness to experiment until we all find the sound we like to perform.

It's been a really positive and collaborative experience so far and I'd say one of our goals is to keep it that way.
