The New Union

Brighton-based four piece, The New Union, are an energetic and charming band, surfacing after their first show in February 2011. Referencing Radiohead, Coldplay and Elbow (amongst others), their music is subtle yet undoubtedly memorable. Performance-wise, they aim to be aesthetically clean, aurally adventurous; their lyrics refreshingly simple, honest and instinctive. Having played alongside the likes of Morning Parade,Dog Is Dead, Slow Club and Washington, the boys are building on an already encouraging reputation. What James (guitar), Richard (lead vocals, guitar, keyboard), Alex (bass, keyboard) and Leo (drums) offer is intrinsic melody with guts. Their sound is adaptable, ranging from the easy listening to the extravagant.
