"EP Review"

A while back, I caught the band in the intimate confines of Radio Bean and was immediately struck by Shinosky’s aching tenor. His voice is simply gorgeous.

"EP Review (2)"

Nightbirds EP- Swaggering, tremulous vocals and heart-on-sleeve distress that wash over you like warm rain. A near perfect brand of sadness. Brenden swaggers and croons like a young Jeff Buckley.

I would like to use the track "White lights". I am digging the Song!

Bio

The band The Nightbirds began to take form in the late winter of 2005 in Burlington, VT. In their unheated apartment, singer/songwriter Brenden Shinosky and guitar player Jimmy Ladd huddled around an open kitchen stove night after night. Facing the high-ends of insomnia, the two began composing songs while feeding off of each other's musical style.

If you've seen The Nightbirds, a four-piece Burlington rock band that emerged last spring, then you've come to expect certain things: particularly an unwavering intensity from lead singer/songwriter Brenden Shinosky contrasted by the consistent melodic backdrop of Jimmy Ladd on guitar. What's compelling about every show is that you get the sense both are individually passionate about what they're doing and together that creates the sound. -Tonya West, Towncraftmovie.com

Today, The Nightbirds core band members are Brenden Shinosky (lead vocals/guitar), Jimmy Ladd (lead guitar) and Seth Gundersen (drums). Other members include Ashley flannigan (keys), Josh Cleaver (bass) and Ian Greenman (bass). Together, they have been captivating hearts since their first show in the spring of 2006. The band recently completed their first studio EP, which became available November 2007.
