The Nightlife

BandRockAlternative

Welcome to our EPK! We play a highly energetic brand of rock that stems from southern rock influences. With a live show that is unmatched, we look to "wow" every single person in the room, whether it be 2 kids or 2000 kids. Our dedication and hard work is truly endless. This is what we live for

Biography

The Nightlife is comprised of five guys from the outskirts of Albany, NY. Our mission since our inception in 2004 has always been to make music we love, be as energetic as possible, and to have fun in the process. So far, we've stopped at nothing less.

Growing up in a thriving music scene is always ideal for young bands. Albany's music scene however, is anything BUT thriving. Despite this fact we've managed to survive and find our niche in a small, yet tight knit underground music scene.

This bio is starting to sound way too cliche, so lets get down to it already! Our undenying love for making and playing music, our live show, our good looks, and our love for meeting new people, are the intangibles that set us apart. The band is our ideal mix of "business and pleasure." We will all go on the record as saying, we will do WHATEVER it takes to bring this band as far as possible.

Our music is influenced by all types of artists, and hundreds of bands. However, the main influences that drive this band are family members. Over the past few years, three of us have all had deaths in our IMMEDIATE families. This kind of adversity often splits groups up. This is not the case for The Nightlife. Our individual tragedies have formed a bond between us, a safe haven of sorts, and an outlet for us all. Our two favorite places are on stage playing shows, or in the shed practicing. It is only here that we are all truly free. It is only here that one thing can stand above the rest. That one thing, of course, is music.

We live to make music and rock out as hard as we can. We have played the east coast extensively and have built a decent fan base by playing Warped Tour, and sharing the stage with national recording acts such as, Saves The Day, Gym Class Heroes, Cartel, Bowling for Soup, Aiden, Emery, Chiodos, Cobra Starship, Four Year Strong, and many many more. We're looking to take the music scene by storm this year and we will NOT go unheard of in 2008.

All Grown Ups Are Pirates

Written By: Noah Lee

Back to the light of the real world. No longer trapped by a sea of blue. But this storm has forced us to bow before the might of the sea, and the creatures that are wading beneath our feet. Pick your poison, swallow it down. What did you come here for? Your breathing lies. You put me out with my head in my hands, when will my suffering end? I'm losing every hope I had. Back to the light of the real world. No longer trapped by a sea of blue. Let's keep this civil as we both try to scream our lungs out. Pick your poison, swallow it down. What did you come here for? Your breathing lies. You put me out with my hand in my hands, when will my suffering end? I'm losing every hope I had. Oh yeah. Through me, the way to the suffering city. Through me, the way to eternal pain. Abandon every hope, all who enter here. Abandon every hope, all who enter here.

Our Days Are Numbered

Written By: Noah Lee/Ryan Swett

Oh. Breath in as the pressure releases. These days of seclusion are in. Our desolate dreams turn into fantasies at the touch of your skin. And it's alright if you let down your oh so condescending glare, once and a while here and there. I won't breath for hours, if that's what you want. If only the good die young, our days are numbered. So here's the last time I'll ever talk to you, as autumns colors fade in my rear view. I'm dying to put you down, and I can't wait to get out of this town. Here's the last time I'll ever make you cry. As summers months are always rushing by. I'm trying not to put you down, I can't wait to get out of this town. I've been wrong, and I've been damned to the consequence that you've put me through. This awkward silence is a gift from me to you. If only the good die young, our day are numbered.

Sorry I Had A Fight...

Written By: Noah Lee

It's a brotherhood, at best, of the broken hearted, searching in the dark for the bottom of a bottle. And in this oh so shallow and sideways world, what more to life is there than the bottom of a bottle? They said beware the rising tide, but I welcomed every wave. They said to take it all in stride, but I'll never be the same and I've seen this far too many times, you're walking out the door, they said...She ushers me in, with a four letter kiss, my heart aching, my hands shaking, and in this oh so shallow and sideways world what more to life is there than the bottom of the bottle...They said beware the rising tide, but I welcomed every wave. They said to take it all in stride, but I'll never be the same and I've seen this far too many times, you're walking out the door, they said...Down the hatch and out the door, footsteps on pavement reverberate through city streets, howling at a concrete moon.

Dance To This

Written By: Noah Lee

You've picked and watch die all the flowers you can hold, so peaceful but you've traded all control, of what you remember and what you forget, when you let desires outweigh regret. Sketch of heaven, you've erased it all. Your weightless spirit rising and rising, but nothing that I recall. Because you've shed what fills your mind. It's a frantic search for words. When your beating heart no longer provides, and you dim the flash before your eyes. It's a chance to chose and re-open your scars, before you lose what sets, what sets you apart. Tonight, we dance to this, for all the lies coming from your lips. Tonight we dance to this, for all the times you've clenched your fists. Tonight we dance for this. Tonight, it's happening again, the road is icing over. Tonight, I will hang my head, and talk when I am sober. But I can. No I can't, I can, No I cant. I can dance till morning comes tomorrow. Tonight, we dance to this, for all the lies coming from your lips. Tonight we dance to this, for all the times you've clenched your fists. Tonight we dance for this.
