"The Charlotte Observer"

"Songs like 'Distance' and 'Our Lady Love' crackle and pop with radio readiness. With piano and guitar, a pounding rhythm section, and Jason Scavone's swelling vocals, The Noises 10 have evolved into what Maroon 5 might sound like if they traded their soul side for rock." - quote

"Billboard Magazine"

The hooks come from all directions in a Noises 10 song, but it's Jason Scavone's impassioned vocals that make the band impossible to ignore. Hailing from Charlotte, N.C., the Noises 10 gradually evolved from a tamer, more keyboard-anchored project to a full-on power pop act. The irresistible keyboard melodies are still there but are now dressed with electronic blips and brisk guitars. Last year's self-released full-length, "There's an Elephant in the Room," attracted the attention of more than one major label, Scavone says, adding that reps from Capitol and Downtown Records have been in touch. The quartet - all its members are in their mid-20's - has already started working on a new album. "Things are just getting started," Scavone says. "We're looking to tour, and we're looking to get picked up by a label, but this is all new to us."

"La Vida Local, but Jeff Hahne"

The Deal: Locals The Noises 10 independently release new album, The Hammer The Anvil The Stirrup.

The Good: The band sounds more polished on its latest release, which cruises through 16 tracks in just under an hour. Some you may have heard before – for example, fan-favorite "Distance," adds some background vocals and a few new drum fills to give it new depth and redone versions of "Sea Level" and "Stuck in the Backseat" also appear. There's also plenty of new material – the hip, rocking "You're Never Gonna Be That Good" that reminded me of Kings of Leon and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and plenty of other tunes that keep the band's signature laid-back rock vibe intact. Jason Scavone's vocals sound stronger than ever – through the deep raspy moments and higher falsetto peaks.

The Bad: The album was originally being worked on with Jive Records, but the label has since decided not to release it. Details aren't available, but given the sound of the new disc, it's a mistake they'll probably regret.

The Verdict: The new songs are better than anything I've heard from the band so far. It's no surprise the band has gotten so much attention from labels and packs local venues when it plays. Check out the CD release party on Sept. 20 at the Visulite.

Bio

“The hooks come from all directions in a Noises 10 song…” -- Billboard

The Noises 10 draw comparisons to bands as diverse as Muse, to Kings of Leon, Coldplay and Radiohead, all tied together with the common thread of a commitment to songwriting.

The band’s current release “The Hammer, The Anvil, The Stirrup” was co-produced by Eric Valentine (All-American Rejects, Maroon 5, Good Charlotte), and has been very well-received in the music supervision/licensing world. N10 tracks have been heard on hit shows such as , "One Tree Hill," "Drop Dead Diva," and "The City."

Upon recently writing and recording a duet with Sony recording artist Brandi Carlile, the two artists are joined together for a tour of the Mid-West, this past September, and are anticipated to continue touring with each other before the year is out.

Additionally, The Noises 10 can now be heard on Music Choice. "Lay This Armor Down" is currently in rotation on the adult alternative channel.
