"Morning, Noon, & Night"

"solid songwriting, intricate harmonies and note-perfect playing." - The Riverfront Times St. Louis, MO

"Loyal Earth Festival"

"Friday brought with it not only a fantastic bluegrass/roots themed day of music but perfect weather to boot. Local St. Louis band The Northwoods were the first to play and the first to impress. As for the local bands that played throughout the weekend, these guys certainly took the cake. Surely the St. Louis scene has a bright future with bands like this one at the helm. I've yet to find a band that can pull off Crosby, Stills & Nash-style harmonies so genuinely - guitarists Jeremy Shanas and Elijah Palnik sang with pure sunshine. A cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Boxer" at the end of their set pointed to another obvious influence. - JamBase.com

"The Northwoods — a Simon & Garfunkel-esque duo, which just started playing here last summer — swept the Best New Band category by a comfortable margin." - The Riverfront Times

Recently awarded Best New Band of St. Louis by The Riverfront Times, The Northwoods have a sound that is both familiar yet new. Elijah Palnik and Jeremy Shanas combine acoustic guitar and percussion with soulful harmony vocals that hint at Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and James Taylor. In live performances and on their cd Morning Noon & Night, The Northwoods aspire to restore the beauty of poetry to its rightful place in today's music while taking 21st century American music in a new direction. - St. Louis Art Museum

"International Canadian radio play on CBC"

"The Northwoods have what it takes to go very far in folk music, and here's hoping that they do"
-Tom Power - Host of "Deep Roots" - The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)
- Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)

"The Northwoods"

"The Northwoods wind and weave their harmonies with carefree tranquility. Recalling the creamy and precise vocal blend of Crosby, Stills and Nash, the Northwoods--Jeremy Shanas, and Eli Palnik--finesse their graceful songs with delicately interwoven acoustic and electric guitars." - KDHX 88.1 St. Louis Community Radio

"The Northwoods - Live In Studio Performance"

"The Northwoods' tunes are driven primarily by completely unimpeachable harmonies, every bit as intricate as they are melodic." - Erik Ziedses des Plantes WERS Boston - Emerson College Radio.
