Biography

The Notebenders. Completely new, totally familiar.
Combining Roots Rock, Alt-Country, Blues, Tex-Mex and Rock into a unique combination of American tone and sound.
The Notebenders are a Wisconsin based band that strives to hold it’s deep passion for the American music genre. The band has been writing songs over the past five years, but this latest collection of songs shows the melting pot of influences that the group has brought to its songwriting.
Pete Llanas heads up the group with a soulful voice. Plays guitar, with a Straight Ahead rhythmic style. And plays blues harps, his influences are The Stones, Bob Dylan, Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson. He has played in roots rock bands over the years, but the Notebenders are his opportunity to exhibit his songwriting ability.
Larry Ripani also writes for the band and sings back up and Lead vocals. He plays guitar with influences from Chuck Berry, Alvin Lee, to Lightning Hopkins and John Lee Hooker. His style and sound are main ingredients to the flavor the music.
Dennis Stevens sings back up vocals and plays Bass Guitar. He has a rolling thunder style that has developed over the years. His creative writing contribution is an important ingredient to the Notebender sound.
Ron Griffin sings back up vocals and plays drums. His style and creative writing/arranging are the glue and foundation that make this unique combination of American tone and sound.
