"Abilene’s theObvious to Host CD Release Weekend for New Album"

The 2013 Battle of the Bands Champions, theObvious, have a new album coming out and they’re celebrating with 2 different CD release parties.

The “Big Ass CD Weekend” takes place October 25th and 26th.

theObvious are amazing. Simply put. To me, they’re like a cross between Deftones and System of a Down. Beautifully organized chaos. I guarantee you they’ll win you over the second you see them. So, take advantage of this weekend so you can see them twice.

Bio

Genres collide in theObvious music: heavy, mellow, jazzy, groovy, driving, melodic, progressive- listenable. Their unique sound, and evident chemistry, has gained much attention in west Texas. Established in late 2011, theObvious consists of front man Jack Boyd, guitarist Gerald Burnett, bassist Gary Hathaway and drummer Nick Franklin. All outcasts from Abilene, Texas they came together because of their mutual love of music, jamming it out to bands such as Deftones, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Mudvayne, Korn and Rush.

From the beginning theObvious has maintained a chi of loving life, an existence their own fans help them to create. We noticed the struggles and heartache, and wanted to lift these people up from their sorrows. We wanted to let them know we hear them and have been there ourselves. Bass Gary Hathaway. It gives us much joy to know that our music has a positive impact on the lives of the people who listen to it. Drummer Nick Franklin. Realizing that its ok to love life, realizing that the struggle only makes people stronger has been, to say, wonderful. It has released us; it has allowed us to focus on the important things, things involving our future, our goals and our dreams.
