As a new band, we haven't yet released. Studio tracks are being worked on at this moment, a couple have been mastered and the fruits of that labour can be found on soundcloud.com/theoctomid. We will be self releasing an EP in October.

The Octomid started early one Sunday morning in Perth, Western Australia with Glen D. (electronics/vocals) trying to describe a fictitious stage on which Daft Punk would play next time they came to town. Over the past few years The Octomid has been discovering and perfecting its sound. The Octomid has also managed to make its way from Australia to the mother land UK. On arrival in London the Octomid found its musical brethren in Dylan R. (drums), Mary B. (vocals) Arthur L. (horns). David M. (lead guitar) and Victoria T. (violin). Different people from different cultures brought together in their search for a new musical direction.
Influences range from Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Pink Floyd, K-Pop, the Bristol sound, Gotye, film scores of the 50's.
So what can you expect from one of the Octomid's live shows? Well it could be a bassy, lazy, down tempo cinematic experience one moment, soaring horns, strings the next, ending in a kaleidoscope of nasty. All wrapped in compelling vocals.
The Octomid will be gracing the many venues around London in 2013, so keep an ear to the ground and prepare yourself for the eight sided terror that is The Octomid!
