"Review: LALO – ‘The Month for Skeletons and Ghost EP’"

An EP that shows the growth in his music, ‘The Month for Skeletons and Ghosts’ is a five track collection of young ego and unbridled passion. It’s a release that isn’t immediately striking, existing in that middle space between heavy pop hitters and underground rap triumphs, but the further you dig into the EP, the more exciting it becomes.

Opening tracks ‘Ego’ and ‘No Man Like Me!’ set the tone for the EP in terms of production and performance, while ‘Versace Bedsheets’, a collaboration with Jackson Nuzzaci, lifts everything through a deft combination of heavy beats and timeless hip-hop energy.
A release that definitely warrants more than a single, casual listen, ‘The Month for Skeletons and Ghosts’ is an intriguing introduction to LALO as an artist and musician, as well as a fun celebration of the months spooky vibes. - Broken 8 Records

Bio

Twenty-year-old, rapper, artist, Denver native and Minneapolis transplant, LALO fuses the foundation of traditional Hip-Hop with alternative genres. Pronounced lay-low, his stage name derives itself from two influential things in LALO’s life; his love of the city of angels and his given name.

LALO stumbled upon music early in his life, or rather, music found him. “I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like one day I woke up and realized something had been there all along. It was in my veins.” The song “Yeah”! By Usher initially inspired his five-year-old self, even making him want to piece his ears and get big diamond earrings, but his parents say he was always rhyming. That early skill took flight, and soon, he was writing and recording his own songs. In 2015, LALO, then only known by his given name, released his first record, “I Am.” From that initial release, LALO formed the record label RoverBoyz Entertainment and began to collaborate with other artist such as Dreyvid, Caily Christine and longbvns, all while continuing to expand his own catalog. He says, “I started RoverBoyz to have people with original music like me come together. Everyone who is apart of this group makes it better than it was in the beginning with diverse material that is loved by many people.”

LALO's newest release "The Month for Skeletons and Ghosts" portrays a disdain of emotions, asking listeners to decide if what they're feeling may not actually have meat on its bones. Broken 8 Records boasts "The Month for Skeletons and Ghosts" is, "An EP that exists somewhere between heavy RnB hits and underground rap anthems, 'The Month of Skeletons and Ghosts' might be LALO's ticket to the big stage." The EP is available for streaming and purchase on all platforms.
