Bio
The Opening Night originated from a group of three members in a band called “The Fews.” They began playing shows around Memphis and the surrounding area and in 1999 and since then have developed into a four piece band with the new name: The Opening Night. Its two original members: Lead guitar player Andrew Key (son of 7 times Grammy nominee Dana Key of Digarmo & Key) and drummer Matt Hall kept the band moving in a positive direction. They have done recording at the famous Sun & Ardent Studios of Memphis with John Hampton and others. The bands original bass player left for college and career. Since then they have found confidence in their new added guitar player Eric Culley and the new bass player Cody Garrison. As The Opening Night they have played with bands such as The Ataris, Manchester Orchestra, The New Frontiers, Todd Agnew, Chase Pagan, The Lives Of Famous Men, Waves On Waves, Cornerstone, Cool Hand Luke, The Rise Of Science and many more. The Opening Night is gaining momentum and gathering more popularity with each new explosive performance. Their play calendar is filling up at a very rapid rate as they are increasingly in demand. Recently, they have had music played on the Locals Only radio show on 93x in Memphis, TN.
