Just as the definition of pilgrim describes a seeker, we are on a journey and search for Different Sounds and Unique lyrics

Dereck King hailing from Pickaway County, Ohio is the Vocalist but most importantly the guitarist in the band. Dereck is undeniably one of the most inspirational, talented and energetic musicians to come out of Pickaway County. Being Self taut at the age of 14 his influences are as varied as his leads from blues, classic rock'n'roll, bluegrass, classical and psychedelia. Derecks list of accomplishments within the music industry have accumulated in fast riffs, subtle nuances and the creative edge that now define him as the front man in Pilgrim. The six string axe is as a natural appendage to Dereck and thus he is leaving an indelible and influential image in the music industry that future guitarists and overall music musicians will aspire to.

Max Shedenhelm performs backing vocals and holds down the bottom end with the heart pounding wall rhythm of the bass guitar. Max has toured regionally and has released One Album with a previous band Zephyr entitled "Zephyr". He has had the honor of opening up for large national acts including Jackyl and The Georgia Satellites at the 2006 Easy Riders Rodeo in Chillicothe, Ohio. His influences and style of playing have helped create a signature sound of Rock, Classical, Jazz and Psychedelia. With Max's natural ability to reinvent and develop bass runs his talent already exceeds his years and influences.

Michael "Lewie" Lewelling hailing from the Music State of Tennessee lays the foundation of the band on the Drums. Michael started beating the skins at the early age of 10. He continued his music education in The Teays Valley Marching band and Jazz band throughout High School in Pickaway County, Ohio. This structured and restrictive environment was not compatible with the young drummers thirst for aggressive free style drumming thus it was not long before the foundation for Pilgrim was formed. Michael soon developed the lean thunderous backbeat and chops that is now the signature for Pilgrim. Michael has played the local club scene as well as Beale St. in Memphis Tennessee. He is also the proud co-owner of Jen & Lew's Groom Room in downtown Circleville, Ohio

Pilgrim was formed by three lifelong friends that have spent their careers working towards a band of talent, creativity, experience and artistic freedom. This band performs originals as well as covers ranging from Classic Rock'n'Roll to their own take on Traditional Bluegrass, Electric to Acoustic sets depending on the venue.

We supply the venues we play with show handbills as well as putting up show posters at local popular locations. We also advertise on local radio station band listings when and where applicable.
