Bio

Theophilus is a pop, groove, rock, and jazz quartet cutting its teeth on the western New York music scene. Winners of the Kingdom Bound International Talent Competition Rochester, and semi-finalists in the Milestones Best In Rochester Contest, Theophilus is going where few spiritually-sensative bands dare to go. They are unique in their ability to blend eclectic sounds and textures, clever hooks, and spiritual/experiential lyrics in a way that appeals to concert-goers and church-attenders alike. And the band can jam like crazy live!

Theophilus influences range from John Mayer and The Allman Bros. to Herbie Hancock and Michel Camilo. The band is often compared to Norah Jones, John Mayer, All Together Separate, Jackson Brown, and even early Santana (when they go latin). Its the variety that is most talked about among Theophilus supporters. In 2005, Theophilus was invited to play at Park Avenue Music and Arts Festival, a 3 day stand at The NY State Campus Crusade For Christ Fall Retreat, The Porch Jam Music Festival, and to sing God Bless
America for thousands at Frontier Field in Rochester, New York.

In spring of 2006, the band will be returning to the studio to record the follow-up to 2005s
Ill Wake Up Tomorrow. This time around, Theophilus will be joined by producers Jim Drew (www.jimdrew.net) and Jim Richmond of Prime Time Funk. The new material captures the same eclectic arrangements and catchy hooks as before, yet with a year of gigging and growth!
Expected release: Fall 2006
