"Stormy Sky is Hauntingly Groovy"

Orange Oven proves themselves as haunting, mysterious and stirring musicians in the release of their newest album Stormy Sky. The band’s choice of album title may just have been the perfect one, as it accurately and almost shockingly describes the vibe it evokes. Like a powerful tempest, the band’s mainly instrumental album features five thundering tracks from the psychedelic rock genre that will leave its listener shuddering excitedly.

Stormy Sky is purposely reminiscent of the early work of Orange Oven’s main influence, Pink Floyd. They have also found influence in the Middle Eastern soundscape, which is explicitly shown in the musically imaginative and exotic tracks “Egypt” and “Iraqi Hashish,” and then further enforced through “Do You Like What You See” of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Free Bird length.

While the album can technically be listened to at any given point or at any given time, it may be best to save Stormy Sky for NYC drug-induced adventures that will likely leave you pleasantly shaken.
