The Question: Theories of Gabriela? What does that mean? The Answer: Well, first we need to answer the question "Who is Gabriela?" Gabriela was a girl that Lead Singer Ryan Spiker met at a Christian camp while leading worship almost a decade before the band came into existence. She was an outgoing, confident girl with a whole lot of passion for people; the sick, the suffering, the
lost -- no one was too far out of reach for her. She wanted every person to experience the love of her God. Gabriela was a prime example of "Christ-likeness." Needless to say, Spiker was captivated by the heart of Gabriela and was in awe of the selflessness she inspired in everyone. Spiker never saw Gabriela again after that camp, however the passion that she instilled in him is very evident in his life. "How can I instill the heart of Gabriela into this generation?" Spiker asks. "After contemplating this question for over six years, I realized that music changes lives. I could not deny the overwhelming power of music and the prevailing influence it has on the youth of today." iPODs, MTV, VH1, MP3's -- you name it. Within this generation these are the trendy vehicles of music that abide in the brains of young people today. We cannot live without our music, therefore a theory erupts: if a "genre bridge" is built between the popular music of today and what we know as "worship," simply put, youth will be given the ability to connect with God through music in an astoundingly relevant way. Enter Theories Of Gabriela, a compellingly relevant rock/worship band with a passion to see the lives of this generation changed through the gift of Jesus Christ. Lead singer Ryan Spiker sings at the top of his lungs with a full heart and a style all his own. "Just give me a deep breath and a guitar and I will sing to my King!" says Spiker. "There is no better way to worship God than with a thousand people jumping up and down." With musical influences ranging from Death Cab For Cutie to Underoath, Theories Of Gabriela brings a new energy to the age old tradition of worship music. Spiker is accompanied by guitarist Tim Rockwell, bassist Brian Kent, and drummer Jared Bailey. Theories Of Gabriela leads you to the throne of God in a style that is loud yet harmonious, energetic yet heartfelt, and is leading this generation to Jesus Christ with songs of deliverance from iniquity and victory over transgression.
