"Lead Us Astray"

"When the Barrie music scene takes a good look at who is changing the face of new rock, alt-rock and meral, one band that will keep popping up is Theory:Astray"

"Together this five-piece brings a lot of variety to the stage while maintaining a unique sound, and doesn't allow their influences to define them"

- Sharon Bamford - Barrie Advance

Bio

Forming in 2001, Theory Astray embarked on their journey of musical exploration releasing two EP’s and honing their live show at venues in Barrie, Toronto, and New York. 2007 saw line up changes, a handful of supernova competition victories and the recording of a new EP (Perseverance In Spite Of All). Since then Theory Astray have immersed themselves in their music, writing and recording a new LP coming out in spring 2011.

Theory Astray’s new LP release, Order Within Chaos, is the bands most ambitious effort to date. Consisting of ten alt metal songs – with occasional elements of rock, progressive, and psychedelia - Theory Astray balance technicality with raw power to create something unique and uncompromising. With lyrical content tackling such subjects/issues as climate change, natural disasters, human migration, lucid dreaming, social revolution, and a necessary change in the current worldview, Theory Astray try to spread their thoughts and views through their musical self expression.

Theory Astray draw influences from bands in a wide range of genres, as well as inspiration from books, art, and everyday life experiences to create their unique brand of music.

Theory Astray Credo:
There is a force - a thought process growing and surfacing among us. This idea emerges not within our governments nor the industrial complex they serve. It emerges within the inhabitants of this planet.

It is that gut feeling that there is something sinister about the civilization built around us; that our empires have been constructed precariously on foundations of wealth, greed and hierarchy; and that our media seeks to distract us from the inevitability of their collapse.

We are a lost tribe - divided and disconnected from the single, global entity that we are. We've aborted our psycho-spiritual evolution for a monotonous pursuit of the mundane. We are bound in our fear of God, death and the unknown.
But change is inevitable and seeks not our approval nor our consent. Our progressive tendency still breathes.

This theory is not lost.
This Theory has only gone Astray.
