"This EP comes with a firecracker..."

This EP comes with a firecracker and a match, sealed to the cover under cellophane. It’s an unabashedly apt metaphor, because The Others Ran bombard you from the get go with the rawest, dirtiest rock ‘n’ roll you’ve heard since the Ramones or early Misfits. The recording, which took place in the band’s basement, is kind of the most brilliant part. The sound of this recording communicates a total DIY vibe that enriches the music and probably couldn’t have translated if it was recorded in a more professional, glossy setting. The echo-y, feedback-filled gritty vibe lends itself perfectly to the super raw, low-fi punk rock appeal of the music. If you have the chance, see these guys. I think some of their stage antics are literally illegal.

Bio

The Others Ran rooted in Brooklyn in July 2005, Two brothers from Baltimore, Played our First Show at the Huge McKibben Rooftop party on August 10th, Since then been playing local bars and clubs in Brooklyn and Manhattan,

We play a SKATE PUNK THRASH INDUSTRIAL GARAGE MIX influenced mainly from the old SKATEROCK Tapes from thrasher mag, skaters, and various skate shops in the early 90s. With lots of chanting hooks and what the f was that beat breaks, combining a bit of noise when the shit hits the fan, Were keeping our recordings as raw as possible, and hope it stays that way.
We sound like Bruce Lee shouting Hoy-Ya sex grunts while fireworks peirce your private parts where you like it. Expect costumes and noise, wear clean underwear
