Theo Tucker

BandHip Hop

Theo Tucker is what gospel hip-hop/music, needs! He represents a new dimension of real, raw lyrics that glorify God, and reveal Satan for who he is, and stands for. While the music is hot and captivating, the words keep your ears plugged into his message.

Biography

Theo Tucker has been singing and performing in church since the early age of eight. Until the age of 17, Theo had never rapped in his life. He was known throughout his high school, however, as an excellent writer and a human "beat box", always providing on-the-spot beats and rhythms for
the local rappers. It wasn't until he heard the single "I Am", by the Cross Movement, one of gospels' hottest hip-hop artists, that God revealed to him that he had a gift for doing this. After rapping over several Cross Movement and Gospel Gangsta songs, he began to write his own material. Many of his first songs weren't very good; after all, he had never rapped, let alone wrote raps. Then, in May of 1999, he wrote a song called "Who Are You With?"
The song was an instant hit at his church, Christian Tabernacle Church in Southfield, MI, but he never recorded it! When asked why, Theo simply said,
"I was never thinking about making CD's or anything like that, I just wanted to rap for God, and hopefully impact someone's life that heard me."

Unknowingly to Theo, that's exactly what God had in mind. One of Theo's favorite scriptures is Romans 8:28: "And we know that all things work
together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." And so God began to allow everything to come together for Theo's rap career. As he continued to write and perform at church, he had started to get an uncontrollable desire to let his words be heard outside the walls of his own church. Realizing that God put an anointed message within his lyrics, Theo began to actively pursue a record deal. Things were moving slow, but Theo just continued to read his Word, pray, and write.

Then it happened. On December 7th, at the Millennium Theatre in Southfield, MI, Theo was blessed with the opportunity to minister to a crowd of 200 youth during a God's Army concert. Although his spot was only 10 minutes long, it made a lasting impression, and people began to ask about him. Deals began to surface, and on March 4th, 2004, he signed with U.G.M.A.C. Music Group, Inc.(Under God's Management And Control), and now currently recording his debut album, slated for
release in September 2004.

Many people, inside and outside of the industry, are referring to Theo as "one of the best in game, new or old", and some even consider him" A breath of fresh air, in these difficult and trying times." Bill Moss Jr., a noted musician in the gospel industry and brother of PAJAM super-producer J. Moss, said, "Theo is one of the most creative people I know, an extremely talented artist, that is sure to be a hit within and outside of the gospel industry."

When asked about the kind of reaction he wanted towards his album, Theo said this:
"I don't care if I get attention or not. I simply want God's message to be heard by as many people as possible, saved or not. I have been given a word
that will inspire, deliver, motivate and restore, that will bring families back together, that will touch the heart of the pimp, the prostitute, the abusive husband the broken down woman or man, all situations. I know that once this album is released, people both young and old, will be drawn to
it's sincerity and it's genuineness, as well as it's only purpose, which is to lift up the name of Jesus and get people to know that God loves them, no
matter what."

Lyrics

VIRTUOUS WOMEN

Written By: T. Tucker, E. Stephens

Chorus

All my virtuous women
Lift Him Up
If you ain’t about sinning
Lift Him Up
If you’re saved and you know it
Lift Him Up
And you’re not afraid to show it
Lift Him Up
(2X)

Verse 1

(Uh)
God’s gift, His greatest creation
Even made His own image fall to temptation (oh)
So beautiful, made in wonder
When it comes to life she presides as the mother
You were raised from jump to be a queen
Taught to be a leader, not a member of the team
You possess more intellect than the average man
Virtuous woman, I’m your number one fan (yeah)
Beauty, intelligence, grace, and style
Have the power to crush bad days with a smile
And all the while, you’re keeping it holy
You even have the ability to help shape and mold me
Virtuous – means you keep it tight
At home, on the job, in the still of the night (Hunh)
Which is usually when the freaks come out
All except for you, cause it’s not what you’re about (C’mon)

Chorus

Verse 2

Virtuous woman, never compromising
Never criticizing, always with a smile on your face
Exudance of beauty and grace
Knowing that your body is a temple of God
Don’t let nobody use and abuse you
Living holy and righteous in all of your ways
Not afraid to give God the praise
You know what it takes to survive in this world
That’s why you’re always praying and worshipping the Lord
Never ‘fraid to give God the praise
Virtuous woman you’re an example setter
Pure excellence, nobody does it better
Your heart is (uh) so pure and so clean (uh), if you know what I mean (uh)
Never down for whatever (uh), uniquely designed

Verse 3

A fighter for you kids, a lover for your man
How you do it all I will never understand
A doctor, wife, lawyer, friend, cook, and a mother
A preacher, counselor, sister and a brother (whooo)
Don’t get it twisted; she’s not a joke
Gracious as a dove, but strong as an oak
Beautiful, (hah) my queen to be
Loves God but manages to still love me (huh?)
How you do that is way beyond me
I just thank God for allowing me to see
The gift that He gave to this dying world
Priced far above rubies, diamonds, or pearls
Way more mature than these little ghetto girls
Virtuous women, more rare than a pearl
She’s self-reliant, please believe
She don’t need a man, she alone will succeed (uh-huh)
Virtuous women are the best kind of women
The no-nonsense serious kind of women
The independent prosperous kind of women
The no-means-no and that’s it kind of women
The Proverbs 31:10 kind of women
The first lady of the church kind of women
I salute you all, diamonds in the rough
All the virtuous women lift Him up (Yeah).

Chorus

EVERYBODY

Written By: T. Tucker

D.J.

Yeah, it’s time to get hype up in here. Get on your feet right now, come on; let’s get crunk for Christ. It’s a Holy Ghost party going on up in here. All the people going to hell, be quiet! Uh, let’s do it like this…

Hook #1

Lift your hands up, move your feet
Give God the praise, get out your seat
We’re gonna take it all the way to the top
Cause it’s a holy ghost party and you know it don’t stop
(2X)

Verse 1

Ladies and gentlemen, attention please
It’s time for me to proceed, yes indeed
In desperate need, like a T-Rex that feeds
So that I may honor my Father in thought and deed Check it, I wanna make it clear tonight
That we ain’t here for nothing, we’re here to fight not against flesh, but principalities
Formalities, extreme abnormalities See, I was studying my Word and I found That there is nothing in this world that should make you frown When you really think about it, and you look around He stood up for you, so how can you sit down That’s why it’s important for us to give more On the count of three, I want everybody on the dance floor On, two, three, as we proceed

Chorus

Everybody just bounce to this
Throw your hands side-to-side and rock to this
(3X)

Verse 2

I extend a gesture, and span the texture For Jesus’ pleasure (Really?) Yes sir Know this, I contain a measure of anointing and success, shock you like a tether Electric message, sting

you like a bee Trust me enemy, that you don’t wanna see me Cause I come with the light of Christ And beat you like you’re Anna Mae Bullock and my name is Ike It’s a brand new season, a new song And if you thought otherwise my dear, you’re dead wrong It’s on like Donkey Kong, nothing but a thang To move your hands and feet in Christ Jesus’ name So everybody, tall, skinny, midgets and the kids Get crunk for Christ, oops, there it is! (They ain’t feeling me yet, but I’m gonna give it to them one more time, now follow directions)

Chorus

D.J.

Yeah, now we’re about to take it back to the old school. See back in the 70’s we did it a little something like this…OLD SCHOOL!!!

Hook #2

Well, bounce rock, turn it up
Put yo hands up in the air
And if you don’t mind partying for Jesus Christ
The wave ‘em like you just don’t care
(2X)

Verse 3

I’m gonna show you how we do this honey
I’m gonna show you how we get down dunny
I think the devil trying to beat me is funny
But it’s no laughing matter, take it serious money but know when you get to round # 12
That you’ll see victory, and he’s right back in hell oh well – that’s how the story goes
I didn’t write it, it was written over two thousand years ago That’s when the man from Galilee came and replaced me Never forsakes me, and His spirit overtakes me That’s why I always look above So that His spirit will fall fresh upon me like a dove See, praise is what I do and you do it too It’s you last chance honey, this is what you do You bounce, and then you rock to it
You can even C-walk and Harlem shake to it

Chorus
