Biography

The friendship and musical roots of husband and wife duo, Del and Andrea Fisher, goes back some thirty years when they first began to play acoustic guitar together. Twenty years later, they reconnected unexpectedly on a train platform coming home from a Fleetwood Mac concert, reigniting not only their friendship but something much deeper.

In 2011 the pair married and left their home town of Melbourne beginning an indefinite road trip around Australia. Arriving in Denmark in February 2011, the duo found the community embraced them and their music with open arms.

As live performers, The Outback Gypsies’ also come together as a four-piece band performing gigs at larger venues, demonstrating their adaptability and versatility to deliver more up-beat rock sounds including their own funky soul originals as well as keeping alive the music of artists including , Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Tracey Chapman, Fleetwood Mac and Bob Marley.

In January 2012, Del and Andrea released their debut album UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, which includes nine acoustic tracks of original songs, all touching on various aspects of relationship with one reflecting on the challenge of fitting into a materially driven society (Am I An Ant).
The Outback Gypsies poetic and up-beat folk-style music has entertained audiences at many venues in the Southern region of WA, including The Albany Entertainment Centre, Southern End Restaurant, The Albany Hotel, The Black Duck Café, Denmark Hotel, Willoughby Winery, Vancouver Café, The Earl of Spencer and both Royal Perth and Albany Shows.

If you enjoy a combination of warm, emotive vocals accompanied with acoustic guitar as well as more up-beat dance music, this husband and wife musical duo is not to be missed.

Lyrics

A Father to His Daughters

Written By: Del Fisher

I've been waiting for this moment for a long time
And you're the proof dreams do come true
From a father to his daughters
I'll take every step with you
From a father to his daughters
I'm so proud of you
From a father to his daughters
I love you

From little girls into ladies
And I get to watch the whole journey through
From little girls into ladies
I'll never forget when you first tied your shoes
From little girls into ladies
I remember your first day at school
From little girls into ladies
I'll never forget the look on your face with your first ice-cream too

From a father to his daughters
I''ll take every step with you
From a father to his daughters
I'm so proud of you
From a father to his daughters
I love you
From a father to his daughters
You'll always be my little girls

Am I An Ant

Written By: Del Fisher

I get up in the mornin'
Get something to eat
Catch the train
And go to work
I get up in the mornin'
Get something to eat
Catch the train
And go to work

Cause am I an ant in a production line
Why do I have to do what society says all the time
I wonder if I'll speak my mind
I wonder if I'll be free tonight

A voice inside you says warning
Get back down in your seat
Match the insane
And don't say a word
A voice inside you says warning
Get back down in your seat
Match the insane
And don't say a word

Cause am I an ant
In a production line
Why do I have to do what society
Says all the time
I wonder if I'll speak my mind
I wonder if I'll be free tonight

A new days a boring
Get back under the sheets
Turn the alarm off
And don't go to work
A new days a boring
Get back under the sheets
Turn the alarm off
And don't go to work

Cause am I an ant
In a production line
Why do I have to do what society
Says all the time
I wonder if I'll speak my mind
I wonder if I'll be free tonight

A voice inside you says warning
Get back down in your seat
Match the insane
And don't say a word
A voice inside you says warning
Get back down in your seat
Match the insane
And don't say a word

Cause am I an ant
In a production line
Why do I have to do what society
Says all the time
I wonder if I'll be free tonight
I wonder if I'll speak my mind

Just Be You

Written By: Del Fisher

I would do anything
To hold you in my arms
To spend the rest of my life
With you

You don't have to do anything
The rest of my life would be blessed
To wake up with you
Just be you

Cause love is such a beautiful thing
When life becomes a song you want to sing
It's a present from heaven
Just be you

I love you too
Just the way you are
I wouldn't change a thing
Cause you're perfect
Just be you

I can't get enough
Your love is something I've dreamt about
You filled the hole in my heart
Just be you

Cause love is such a beautiful thing
when life becomes a song you want to sing
It's a present from heaven
Just be you

Cause love is such a beautiful thing
when life becomes a song you want to sing
It's a present from heaven
Just be you

Cause love is such a beautiful thing
when life becomes a song you want to sing
It's a present from heaven
Just be you
