Bio

The Outbreaks have been apart of the Chicago music scene since 2006. Drawing from their wide range of influences from The Ramones and Frank Zappa to The Beach Boys and The Beatles to Motown and Mozart. The Outbreaks rhapsodizes on soulful singing, truthful lyrics, poignant keyboard lines, punchy guitar licks, and driving back beats – a simple formula that produces memorable songs. The Outbreaks began playing smaller local all ages venues, and worked their way up to playing venues such as: The Beat Kitchen, Schubas, Clearwater Theater, The Underground Lounge, Knights of Columbus, and various other Chicago local milestones with such acts as: “The Academy is…, The Epochs, The Hush Sound, and many other established groups. The Outbreaks released there first album the “Places (EP)” in 2008. The "Places (EP)" is a fitting debut that delivers catchy melodies. The songs are about the art of growing up and friendships. The album was recorded with local favorite Brian Zieske at the “Gallery of Carpet” recording studio. The Outbreaks debut (LP) was tracked, recorded, and produced by the band in a Lakeview apartment. The self titled (LP) is a far cry from the “Places” (EP). The individual musical voices of the band are far more profound and distinctive. Recently the band hit the studio again for their third release, which was also self-titled, an (EP) that is a more stripped down. “We wanted to do something that fit into the Chicago musical canon. We know that Chicago is a Rock n’ Roll and blues town, so we decided to record an album that was more geared towards what we grew up listening to.” says Tim. The album was recorded live to tape at The Gallery of Carpet recording studio with producer Brian Zieske. The album has an organic feel and reflects the bands musicianship and ability to perform tight live. In an “Auto-Tune, Pitch Correction, Beat Detective World”, The Outbreaks decided to do something natural, and that’s what they did.
