The Outcome

Stemming from the Midwest, Northeast, Southwest, and Pacific Northwest, The Outcome came together in Portland, Oregon. The members of the band have played in various bands with each other over the past several years and in different locations, all leading up to this. Songwriter Nick McLean blends some of his oldest songs with brand new ones, and all of the above describes why they chose the name The Outcome. It's a culmination of years of creativity and broad music experience. 

The genre of The Outcome is hard to describe with just one style, as each member's different backgrounds and McLean's eclectic style of writing give it such diversity. From the start, an epic intro track followed by two infectiously catchy dance tracks (Back to Front & Girl), trading lyrics between each singer, it might come off as just another indie dance band. From there, however, the band starts to show its range both in style and lyrically. Songs like "A Long Time" and "The Rain" show off an emotional side, while "For You" and "A Better Place" bring back the alternative pop, almost as a nod to the 90s generation. The final track (The View From Above) is worth the wait, as it starts with catchy melodies and ends with an instrumental of great proportions. There might even be a hidden track if you keep it playing.
