Bio
The Out Of Towners
are a soul-jazz, boogaloo funk band with a chasm-like groove and a punky edge. Classic era Grant Green, Big John Patton, Lou Donaldson Hammond Organ combo's are the root of the sound, mixed in with some rawer funk thrown in for when the dance floor demands it.
Formed in Leeds, England by guitarist Gareth Parry (Ike Stubblefield, Ariya Astrobeat Orchestra, homecut) and now based in Toronto, Ontario, Rounding out the band is a who's who of Canadian talent: drummer Shawn Killaly (Joel Kroeker, Ridley Bent), bassist Yash Presswalla and organist Sebastian Buccioni (The Chameleon Project)T.O.O.Ts are ready to play whenever and wherever people need to be entertained. The wide range is the thing, from more chilled Soul-Jazz sets through to dancefloor filling groove. 'Play to the room' would be our motto.
