Biography

The Overkills are an up and coming four piece rock outfit hailing from the northside of Dublin. They formed in mid 2004 and have been arousing considerable label interest in recent months. The bands sound is an eclectic mix of gritty rock guitar, hook laden melodies and clever three way harmonies. The bands influences come from a variety of sources. Comparisons have been drawn between early u2 and Led Zeppelin to the pop sensibilities of John Lennon and The Smiths. Lead singer Ciaran Malone's vocal style has been compared with The Doors' Jim Morrison but with a distinctive contemporary edge. Indeed brothers Ciaran and Niall Malone's harmonies naturally complement eachother creating a dynamic wall of sound.

The bands debut offering, Stop and Stare addresses a number of life's universal themes ranging from love and the pain of losing love to the struggle to find spiritual contentment in a cosmopolitan world. Following a number of sold-out Dublin shows in 2006, the band signed a management contract with Sonic-Eye Media Ltd. a Dublin/ London based management and production company.

A number of industry showcases are planned for 2007 and the band are hoping to release Stop and Stare to a wider audience.
