The Pali Gap is a punk/rock/ska band originally formed by singer / songwriter Sanjeev Pali and guitarist / producer Jorge Galavis. The Name of the band originates in Hawaii, where Jimi Hendrix wrote a little instrumental tune called "Pali Gap" inspired by a mountain range that carries the name. It also happens to be Sanj's surname. Radio 1 DJ Nihal once described them as a "sinister, funky & spikey" pop punk band...and so far they have been shortlisted on Radio 1's The Lock Up, played on XFM Unsigned with Sarah Darling and performed at this year's London City Showcase. They have also recently won / nominated on a few songwriting competitions (BBC Asian Network / British Academy of Composers & Songwriters) & been invited to feature on several publications. 4 years ago Sanj & Jorge met whilst working in different projects / bands but as soon as they walked in the studio ideas started flowing...After nearly 2 years of collaborations & songwriting , Sanj and Jorge have joined in madness with Fukuoka's best drummer Shiroh Okuni and long time friend & guitarist / bassist Adam Bentley with whom they are currently collaborating on new material! So keep an eye here for new tunes and info on upcoming shows
