The Pandemics

BandAmericanaSinger/Songwriter

The Pandemics are an acoustic/electric singer/songwriter duo which plays a wide variety of original music, combining aspects from the country, blues and folk genres.

Biography

Jaime Nichols tackles the lead guitar with a mixture of Texas style blues and modal improvisation, which is always a crowd pleaser. Growling electric grooves and haunting melodies supply the electric half of the duo. Jonathan Howard provides the acoustic foundation for the group with with a creative weave of harmonically diverse and well grounded arrangements, which provide a sound foundation as well as hold down the bottom end of the music. Blues through to Folk are the basis for the music with Señor Jaime and Jonathan sharing vocals. The Pandemics also have the ability to expand to fill a full band venue, employing local sidemen for such occasions.

Creature of Habit

Written By: Jaime Nichols

CREATURE OF HABIT,
WON'T DENY MY NAME.
GREATURE OF HABIT,
ALL ALONE.
YOU CAN TEMPT ME FROM MY CAVE
WITH A TASTE OF WHAT I CRAVE.
A CREATURE OF HABIT
WON'T SAY NO.

LAST CALL FOR THE RAT RACE, FOR THE FAST CHAsE TO THE LAST PLACE,
NO CONTEST WAITS FOR ME, TO FIGURE WHAT I'LL BE.
IF I TRIP UP ON MY SHOELACE, I NEVER TIED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE,
BABY LEAVE THE TYING UP TO ME.

WHEN YOU SEE ME WITH MY CLOTHES ON, CAUSE THE SHOW'S ON FOR WHAT GOES ON.
I'LL TELL YOU WHERE I WENT, JUST HELP ME MAKE THE RENT.
DON'T BLOW ME OFF WHEN IT BLOWS ON, LET'S JUST GET GONE,
CAUSE I SURE COULD USE A LOVER AND A FRIEND.

TWO CATS WAITING AT MY FRONT DOOR, WHAT THEY HUNT FOR, WELL I'M UNSURE.
JUST ANOTHER HAND TO FEED, TO TAKE THEM BUT NOT LEAD.
IF YOU WALK IN WELL IT DAMN SURE AIN'T NO GRAND TOUR.
GIRL I'M BUILT FOR COMFORT NOT FOR SPEED.

I'M A CREATURE OF HABIT,
WON'T DENY MY NAME.
GREATURE OF HABIT,
ALL ALONE.
YOU CAN TEMP ME FROM MY CAVE
WITH A TASTE OF WHAT I CRAVE.
A CREATURE OF HABIT
WON'T SAY NO.

None Now; Thanks

Written By: Jonathan Howard

Come to this mornin',
cracked her eyes;
moaned "Christ the sun done broke".

Ain't nothin' new, same thing happened last time she woke.

Things, they're just too bright,
if you can see.

Roll and roll again,
ground out,
ean, push and stand.

Step once,
still now, move; hey, ain't this grand.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

But that don't help you none now...
Guess it don't matter anyhow....

Drag in, grab a phone,
say "Hello, can I help?"; you gotta hear that smile.
Pick it up, put it down, break it now;
back you go sleeping all the while.

Time...can't be pushed...from where it stands.

Stand again, push it in, step on out
into the breaking night. The way is clear, you hold the key and everything will be alright.

Just hold on if you can.

But that don't help you none now...
Guess it don't matter anyhow...

The lights all shining now, but it can't last.
It's later than you know all to fast.

Things, they're just too bright, to see.

Time to say good night, it's way too soon to leave.
The darkness layers all, as you lay, so sleep.

All seems pretty much straight forward to me.

But that don't help you none now...
Guess that don't matter anyhow...

Vampyre Blues

Written By: Jonathan Howard

Up a bit late this mornin',
drunk on that blood red wine;
when that sunlight crept through the window,
I swear I like to die.

Dragged myself to the bedroom,
and I crawled on in;
lay my head on the pillow,
then I lowered the lid.

Pull the shades and draw the curtains;
Katie bar the door.
Cause I'm dyin' for the livin';
that's what the livin' is for.

Come to this evenin',
I was feelin' drained and tired;
got myself some breakfast,
and now I'm feelin' fine.
Believe I'll go up town come midnight,
see who's new to meet;
slip in some place quiet,
and grab a bite to eat.

Pull the shades and draw the curtains;
Katie bar the door.
Cause I'm dyin' for the livin'; that's what the livin' is for.

Hello there Darlin',
I've come to call on you;
I'd like to take you out this evenin',
and prove my love is true.

Open up; invite me in,
I'll kiss you long and sweet;
we'll go out and do the town up right,
the night life our treat.

Raise the shades; pull back the curtains;
life the bar from the door.
We'll be livin' on the sweet blood of life;
who could ask for more?
