At the inaugural Home Brewed Music & Arts Festival, promoters have put on display a wide variety of visual artists and rock and hip-hop musicians, many of which have flown largely under the radar of local press. The Paramedics are a funky hard-rock trio featuring guitarist Ben Bush and drummer Nick Kalenak of Brookfield East High School and bassist Justin Gaworski of Nathan Hale High School in West Allis. The three met at a Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra jazz jam session and discovered they had similar influences, including Led Zeppelin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

The Paramedics currently have one E.P released both online and in independent record stores located in the South-Eastern Wisconsin area. Their first full electric studio album recorded at National Studios: "The Pizza Shuttle E.P". These tracks are currently streamed to an even larger audience on radio stations such as 88.9-Radio Milwaukee, 101.9FM WOCT and 91.7 WMSE in the metro-Milwaukee and Oshkosh area.

“The Paramedics” was founded in 2009 by two best friends, Ben Bush (guitar) and Nick Kalenak (drums), who’d been playing together for two years. They first met Justin Gaworski (Bass/Lead Vocals) at a jam session at the Jazz Estate. Justin clicked with the other two and soon filled the vacancy left by a previous bassist. Within a week “The Paramedics” played their first show and never lost momentum. All three draw influence from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Dub Trio, and Bob Marley. They’ve done shows for audiences at "The Rave" in Milwaukee WI, numerous basement shows in South Eastern Wisconsin, "The Double Door" in Chicago IL, Neenah WI's "Rock Island Café," Milwaukee’s “Home-Brewed Festival," "Reggies Rock Club" in Chicago, Madison's WI's "The Frequency", "Hauntapalooza" fest in Belgium WI, "One of Life's Perks" Coffee House in Los Angeles CA, multiple shows with "Gorilla," "Supernova" and "Afton" Productions and numerous more around the state of Wisconsin. The band is based in Brookfield, Wisconsin and have kept acquainted with the Milwaukee music scene. Their indescribable sound goes hand in hand with the band's unique musical influences. Their stage presence is one of a kind, from jumping into the audience to behind-the-head guitar solo’s. Their passion for music is rare, which has made them one of Milwaukee’s most dynamic music talents.
