"The Parts & Company" - A Little Soul with your Rock and Roll..

Former child actor Brian Part, best known for his role as Carl Sanderson Edwards, Melissa Gilbert's pre-teen "boyfriend" on NBC-TV's "Little House on the Prairie," along with his super talented singer-songwriter wife Melody, are proud to present "The Parts and Company" rock band - a unique blend of classic '60's rock-n-soul meets '80's big ballads. With Brian and Melody's lead vocals anchoring the band, song styles vary from original power ballads, to hard rockin' soul-tinged tunes, to lighter-fair '60's classic covers.

"The Parts & Company" is:

Brian Part (songwriter/guitars/lead and backing vocals) - Brian Part's journey into the entertainment business began early on, as he became interested in the acting profession and started booking major acting roles at the tender age of 13. His credits include numerous television appearances on shows such as "Eight is Enough" and "The Waltons." Perhaps his most notable role was portraying Carl Sanderson Edwards on NBC-TV's "Little House on the Prairie." As Melissa Gilbert's pre-teen male companion and partner in crime, Brian's character and Melissa's character Laura Ingalls would wreak juvenile havoc on the town of Walnut Grove, MN. Still airing in world-wide syndication, fans from Asia to Europe to the Americas continue to follow the actors that appeared on this family-friendly Michael Landon (Highway to Heaven, Bonanza) produced show.
Following his "Little House" stint, Part went on to star in feature films with Hollywood heavyweights such as Rip Torn, Eddie Albert, Pat O'Brien, Lloyd Nolan, and upcoming young talent like Eric Stoltz, Leif Garrett, Ralph Macchio, and Academy Award winner Jodi Foster. In the 1980's, Brian turned his considerable talents towards music, as his original group "Silent Stranger" performed with bands such as heavy metal superstars Ronnie James Dio, Warrant, and Vixen, as well as musicians Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart of the '80's new wave group, the Eurythmics.

Melody Part (songwriter/keyboards/lead and backing vocals) - As for Melody, her passion for music practically began in the cradle, as she was definitely the typical "ham" child, singing for her friends and family at every opportunity. Her father, a professional musician and vocalist himself, encouraged her to follow and fine tune her obvious musical talents. Melody got her first taste of the stage performing the Sunset Strip clubs such as the Roxy and Whisky a Go Go with the 90's all girl rock band sensation "Misguided." A Rolling Stones magazine reviewer once described her as "the best female vocalist to hit the strip since Janis Joplin." When William Morris Agency Vice President Jore Pinos heard the Parts music, he encouraged them to continue writing as a team, and when they were ready the door would always be open to them. With that advice, she turned her talent towards her partnership with husband Brian, and her musical journey was completed. Over the years Brian and Melody have written and recorded many songs together as the duo "The Parts," and are looking forward to including these originals in their band project, "The Parts & Company." Melody is the driving vocal force, songwriting sage, and soul of "The Parts and Company" sound.

Chris Farmer (bass/vocals/road manager) - Chris Farmer originally hails from the Motown city of Detroit, Michigan. Since relocating to Los Angeles, his musical career has been rich with big name acts. A bass player, guitarist, pianist, and vocalist, Chris is currently performing with Timothy B. Schmit of the "Eagles" in support of his latest CD "Expando." Farmer was also the bass player and vocalist for the legendary Beach Boys from 1995 - 2007, and was their musical director and vocal arranger since 1999.
His previous projects include musical director/bassist/ vocalist for Jack Wagner, helping propel his hit recording "All I Need" to the number 2 spot on the Billboard charts. Other gigs include music supervisor and bassist for the "Legends of Doo-Wop" and "Cavalcade of Stars" shows, playing behind such greats as Sam Moore of Sam and Dave, David Ruffin of the Temptations, The Drifters, The Diamonds, Al Wilson, Brenton Wood, The Flamingos, Jan & Dean, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Turtles, and many others of 50's and 60's era.

John Prpich (guitars/vocals/recording and mixing engineer) - John's humble San Fernando roots betray his long list of accomplishments in the Los Angeles music scene. As with most of "The Parts & Company" members, his family is quite musical, as his great-uncle was Chris Farmer's high school orchestra director in Farmer's hometown of Livonia, Michigan. Johnny's credits include many tours with top-selling acts such as Juice Newton, Edgar Winter, and Led Zeppelin tribute pioneers, Led Zepagain.
