Bio
The Passing Afternoons are an original indie-folk band from Deland FL. Formed in early 2012 as a male/female duo, they blend the timeless melodies of old folk songs with modern indie rock and alt-country influences. The atmosphere they create takes you for stroll down the back roads of memory and leaves you with a sense of place.
The band's influences include early singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, and Neil Young to more modern acts like Iron and Wine, Andrew Bird, and Fleet Foxes.
They utilize male/female multi-part harmonies and combine traditional folk instruments with modern instrumentation including synth-bass and samples.
