Bio
Pat Wrights accomplishments have included everything from playing for the Queen of England to entertaining out-of-control rock and roll fans, and serving up tasty R&B and funk. With the release of his debut CD of unique originals, and the formation of his dream band, his career is only just beginning.
Pat was virtually born with a guitar in his hands. While the rest of the kids were watching the Beverly Hillbillies, Pat was learning how to play along with the Rubber Soul Album by the Beatles.
He is one of Winnipegs most well-known and sought-after multi-instrumentalists. Hes performed on releases by Juno award winner Michie Mee (Arbor Records), Gold record artists McMaster & James (VIK/BMG), produced some of Manitobas finest artists such as Ray St. Germain, and played with many of Winnipegs top musicians such as Spider (Loverboy, Tom Cochrane), Damon Mitchell (The New Meanies), and Leonard Shaw (All The Kings Men). Hes performed in many local buzz bands including Popes Hill and The New Meanies.
But his passion is his song writing. Driven by an unearthly desire to rock ass this self-motivated musical powerhouse is working on his first full-length album, which finds him returning to his roots with a collection of focused melodic singer/songwriter type material combined with all-out rockers. His soaring melodies and hypnotic grooves create an exciting new musical landscape. The Jeff Buckley, Beck and Coldplay influences are there - yet they combine to produce a style that is totally unique.
To promote the disc Pat has put together what has to be the ultimate Winnipeg dream band superstar drummer Chris Dugas, keyboard-whiz Mark Arnold and consummate rock bassist Jay Sutton. Although brand-new, they have already showcased for Rob Lanni (Coalition Entertainment Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan) and Ralph James (TAG Agency - Nickelback and many others). Next, Pat plans on blowing away crowds at all the major music conferences, and increasing his already large local following.
