Bio

The Beginning

The Peace Pipe Prophets began writing Texas rock/Americana music in 2009, Ryder Lemon (Lead Singer '08-'09) wrote songs in a defining time in his life. He shared this passion with long time friend guitarist Rick Morales (Wikked Wayz '87-'95) just south of Austin in San Marcos, Texas. Shortly there after drummer Glenn James (Moon Dog '99-08) joined also providing backing vocals. Danny Grimes played the bass and Timothy McKenna added percussion to the mix. The five prophets played several outdoor shows in San Marcos, TX. from the end of '08 to late '09.

Departures

In late '09, bassist Danny left the band due to undisclosed personal issues. Lead singer/songwriter Ryder Lemon had to leave the band due to health complications from a motorcycle accident in '85.

Revival

In the middle of 2010, the band was uncertain as to when Ryder and Danny would return. It was a mutual feeling that even though Ryder and Danny were not with the band, they would always be Prophets. Friend and roadie of the band, John Akinloye took up temporary duties on the bass. Glenn began singing and playing the drums, the band began rearranging and writing new music, and a there was a new vibe to the band. It was energetic, it was fun, we began to feel the music. The Peace Pipe Prophets played their first gig with in the new format November 2010 and are still going strong!
