Bio
The Pianos formed in the spring of 2007 at Oberlin College, 45 minutes west of Cleveland. While they initially knew each other through mutual involvement in the conservatory's jazz program, they have since set themselves apart by creating music that is unique, personal and uncompromising. Their influences range widely– from Ted Leo, Jim Black, Weezer and Wayne Shorter to The Claudia Quintet and Pedro the Lion. Since forming, they have played shows around Oberlin and Cleveland, as well as in NYC, Madison, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston and more.
