"Madison pop band relocates to the Valley, ready to rock"

Despite being a relatively young band, The Picture Perfect already has a big pile of accomplishments. The band has already recorded a debut album consisting of nine tracks, filmed two music videos, released an acoustic EP, and booked a number of shows in the Chippewa Valley area for this fall. Kyle Featherstone, the band's frontman, originally started the project with himself as the sole member last year as a creative outlet. After Colin Huntington – his friend since the second grade – joined the project, Featherstone made the decision to take things seriously with the band and move from Madison to Eau Claire. They added three more members in Logan Rieger and two Eau Claire natives, Justin Hallman and Aaron Kelley (The Last Semester). They have also made endless connections in the past few months. This has given the young band an excited energy—currently, the band is just ready to play shows, meet new friends, and make even more fans in the Chippewa Valley and beyond. The Picture Perfect's music is best described as a positive piano-driven pop punk soundtrack. This band is sure to please ears that already listen to the Rocket Summer and Jack's Mannequin. When asked about their live show, Featherstone commented that members of the crowd should expect, "a pretty crazy and silly (not to mention slightly awkward) show." - Volume One

"Picture seems perfect for local rock band"

Back in Eau Claire after traveling in July with the nationwide music festival Warped Tour, members of Eau Claire band The Picture Perfect find life going well.
Pianist and vocalist Kyle Featherstone said he and the other musicians were still coming down from a “Warped Tour high.” As guitarist Josh Bening said with a laugh, “We’re all just kicking ass at our lives right now.”
The group has every right to have a lingering sense of accomplishment. Warped Tour is a massive and popular festival boasting major artists representing genres ranging from pop punk to metal to hip hop and more.
The Picture Perfect, described as a “piano pop punk” band by Featherstone, used the opportunity to gain fans in places the band was previously unable to reach, he said.
“It wasn’t so much specifically just about playing for us,” he said. “It was about reaching out and basically expanding because we kind of felt pocketed here in the Midwest for awhile.
“Meeting people in person is very important,” he said. “I think that’s how you really solidify a fan.”
Warped Tour also meant a chance to meet artists the band members have admired — and some they’d never heard of before but befriended on the road — as well as improve their chances of making a career out of the band.
“I’ve said to everyone that’s asked — it was by far the best experience in my life,” said drummer and vocalist Colin Huntington while emphasizing this was in fact not hyperbole.
Huntington said he enjoyed the friendly, familylike aspect to the tour.
“I was playing soccer with people I idolized growing up,” he said, giving an example of the atmosphere.
While not performing on stage, Featherstone said the band spent much of its time “hustling,” or promoting its music and selling merchandise to help spread the band’s name.
Huntington said the band would walk through the lines of ticket buyers to expose its music and create fans, which was often met with positive results.
“Everyone was open and accepting of (new music),” he said. “They were so willing. … We didn’t have to even ask for some of them to listen to it.”
The rewards of the band’s tireless promotion showed. Featherstone said after Warped Tour they found an increase of about 250 to 300 followers on Twitter and “Likes” on The Picture Perfect’s Facebook page.
Bening said he had to turn off the notifications he got on his phone for the band’s Twitter account while touring because they were being mentioned and tweeted so much.
After establishing a greater foothold and gaining fans in other cities, members of The Picture Perfect now have very serious aspirations to turn their passion into their careers.
“I don’t think (making it into a career) is impossible,” Huntington said. “It will just be very hard. To do that you need to be willing to make sacrifices, promote every chance you get and (understand) it’s going to be a lot of nos.”
Featherstone said as long as he is working with music as a career, he would be happy with that.
“But right now we have momentum,” he said. “And I think that’s so important for a band to have, as long as you capitalize on your momentum.”
Building onto that momentum, The Picture Perfect is going on tour the first part of September, returning to some of the cities the band visited on Warped Tour, including a show on Sept. 7 in Minneapolis.
Along with the tour, the band will be releasing a new single sometime this fall, Huntington said.
Whatever the future holds, the band members said the reason they’re doing this is because music is their ultimate passion.
“We’re clearly not in this for the money,” Featherstone said. “It’s about getting out there, making friends, doing what we’re doing.” - The Leader-Telegram

"Free Music: The Picture Perfect's "Lovestruck" -- Song of the Day"

The Picture Perfect's new single, "Lovestruck," is a sparkling pop-rock jam that will pull you in from the start. It stands out in its ability to build up and scale down in instrumentation, creating a cliff-hanger affect that will have you holding your breathe in anticipation for what comes next. We're not trying to give anything away, but it's safe to say you can expect solid guitar riffs, a hook-heavy chorus, and plenty of building drum rolls -- and trust us, you'll be into it every time. "The Picture Perfect Premiere New Album 'Dreaming In Color'"

The Picture Perfect first introduced us to their anthemic pop-rock jams when they dropped their explosive first single, "Lovestruck." Three months later, they're back with a new full-length, Dreaming In Color, and it sounds custom-made for starry summer nights, breezy afternoons, and the kind of love that outlasts rising tides and fading heat. These eleven tracks pack in a record amount of soaring melodies, heartfelt harmonies, smashing percussion, and explosive choruses, producing an album that continues to build as it progresses and makes picking favorites a nearly impossible task. We have a sneaky feeling it will grab hold of your heart the moment you press play, so give it a spin, and grab it from iTunes when it officially drops July 7. - Purevolume.com

"The Picture Perfect Being Picture Perfect"

The Picture Perfect proves that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Comprised of five pretty boys from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the band is a clever concoction of piano rock, pop punk, and teen emotions.

The guys recently released their new single, “Takeoff,” a high energy pop rock tune with a catchy and friendly gang vocals. Keeping true to their piano rock trademark, the keys are the backbone of the song. The band adds guest rapper Nate EJ to the mix, giving the already awesome song some street cred.
If you already like what you hear, you should help the guys fund their musical journey in 2014. The Picture Perfect have started a Kickstarter campaign to help cover expenses associated with touring and recording their upcoming album. The campaign has already been pretty successful, and only needs about 1K to reach its goal. - Truth or Sarah

Bio

Born in the early months of western Wisconsin's blissful summer of 2011 between childhood friends Kyle Featherstone and Colin Huntington, The Picture Perfect is what professionals in the music industry like to see. After tiring of unsuccessful solo endeavors, Featherstone (primarily a pianist), looked to create an outlet that would bring the piano influenced music of his youth back into the over-saturated heavy alternative scene of the time; and thus his brainchild “The Picture Perfect” was born. Despite being self managed and relatively new to the alternative pop scene of the area, the boys have taken serious determination and turned it into countless shows through the midwest and a legion of dedicated fans. Focused on positive and intelligent songwriting that is often lacking in the pop scene, one is also sure to hear a skillful collaboration of catchy piano driven melodies fused with powerful driving choruses and dueling vocal components. Known for their goofy antics and positive attitudes, the boys from The Picture Perfect really know how to create a welcoming atmosphere and put on a good show alive with charismatic stage presence and not to mention the occasional bits of awkward stage banter. Keep an ear out for these guys, as they are more than serious about bringing piano rock back to the forefront of your music playlists.
