The Pictures

BandRockAlternative

The Pictures are a band whose music has been described as rock'n'roll with an indie swagger. With influences such as Kings of Leon, The Who, Weezer and Pearl Jam, their live shows are intense and energetic, their songs have enough hooks to fill a wardrobe, and they have the attitude to match.

Biography

The Pictures are a four piece based between Dundalk and Newry whose music has been described as melodic, yet edgy rock'n'roll. Based around the passion of lead vocalist & guitarist Trevor Callan and the subtlety of Emmett Moore's guitar, their sound is supplemented by the rythm section of Ger Murphy on bass and Marty Evans on drums. Currently their live shows are bringing them to people's attention and recently a headline gig in Dundalk's 'The Spirit Store' saw them launch their debut EP simply entitled 'The Pictures'. The band are influenced by a number of acts including Kings of Leon, The Who, Weezer, and Pearl Jam. They are currently touring mainly on the east coast in venues from Belfast to Dublin. Successful support slots with established Irish rock acts such as Director, Republic of Loose and Boss Volenti have assisted the band in bringing their music and live shows to a wider audience. The remainder of 2007 will see the band continue to tour widely as well as return to the studio in order to follow up their debut EP.
