The Piezoelectric Effect is a group of young, dynamic players, based out of Petaluma, performing rare, groove-based jazz from the likes of Freddie Hubbard, Mike Longo, Idris Muhammed, Billy Brooks, The Stylistics, and many more.
Developed by bassist Max Ramey, the band is comprised of a soul, R&B and funk-influenced rhythm section (including, drums, guitar, and rhodes piano) playfully juxtaposed with orchestrated and improvised jazz horns.
Members of the group are Max Ramey, Joseph Ramey, Jeff Pierce, Nicholas Hasty, Dan Ford, Kendall Holstein, Brendan Buss, and Stu Manzano.

The audience and fan base range from young individuals who crave unique, danceable music, to older, mature, music lovers. This band maintains high quality musicianship while being accessible to a wide range of music lovers.
