A few years ago, three girls from Brooklyn realized that whichever definition you chose, the name fit their band. Alison (vox), Christy (guitar), and Lynne (bass) began writing original songs about timely, important topics such as jaywalking, crushes, killer hangovers, and skinny girls with no ass. Soon drummer Tim joined up, and The Pill began playing out to enthusiastic crowds at clubs all over NYC—including CBGB, Pianos, Lit, Sin-e, The Delancey, Rare, The Pussycat Lounge, Union Pool, Trash, Pete’s Candy Store, and the legendary Kingsland Tavern. Drawing comparisons ranging from the Undertones to X-Ray Specs to Buddy Holly, The Pill just want to turn you on, rough you up, and bliss you out. And, most of all, they wanna rock. Got a problem? It’s nothing a little dose of their infectious brand of post punk garage rock 60s girl group pop won’t cure.
