Bio
The Painted Pines write alt. country folk/rock. That sounds like a mouthful - but they aren't traditional country, and they aren't traditional folk. The Painted Pines write lyrics one can relate to, and infectious melodies that you won't be able to resist tapping your feet along to.
Jamie Gould has always sung - from Royal Conservatory competitions, singing on her childhood school bus, to forming her first band Plumm when she was 19. From there she cut her first album which received regular radio play, had a song in a movie, and opened for Richard Buckner – who told her she has the voice of an angel.
Charlie Loudowl's beats and rhythms complement the effortless sound of this vocal driven band. He not only gets what this music about, he looks cool while playing it. Chuck is also a published author, and an amazing painter.
Todd Maduke plays guitar and mandolin in The Painted Pines. He is a lover, not a fighter. Is not now and has never been a member of the Communist party. He also plays in The Ruminants and The Bigfoot Rocketship - and he kicks ass on stage.
Jay Nelson is the new rhythm player for The Painted Pines replacing original member Becky Salmond. Jay is an accomplished player and has spent years honing his craft. He also plays with Scott Macleod and Deon Blyan. He has some of the nicest guitars you'll ever see, and he's got the chops to more than do them justice!
