Bio

The unholy alliance known as the Pink Spiders began in the summer of 2003. Born in Nashville, Tn, a city known primarily for country and christian music, the Pink Spiders made a point from day one to counter such cookie cutter ideas in music. To call their live show wild and frenetic would be an understatement. Their dark, abrasive dual guitar assault and unbridled energy is almost unheard of in the pop music world. But the Pink Spiders are just that. Pop music. And dance music. And soul music. And definitely way more punk rock than anyone STILL sporting a mohawk.

Drawing comparisons to bands such as the Ramones and the Cars as well as Rocket from the Crypt and Dead Boys, the Pink Spiders have the uniquely undeniable sound missing in current popular music. Their fist-pumping anthems will take you back to a time when records didn't need filler. And with their “we live in our van and never go home” philosophy, the Pink Spiders will even bring it to your backyard. Having already shared the stage with bands such as Against Me!, the Lawrence Arms and many more during their busy 150+ date 2004 tour schedule, the Pink Spiders have brought their jarring brand of rock n roll to a wide variety of audiences, including the 2004 Van’s Warped Tour. And the reaction has been incredible.

Their debut EP recorded in Flovilla, Ga was released to the masses in January of 2004 and has received wide critical acclaim selling over 1,500 copies on tour alone. Alternative Press magazine has given it four out of five stars raving "This EP kills, but you really need to see the Spiders live to witness their greatness". Maximum Rock n Roll calls the Pink Spiders "a great new band...you better get the rare first pressing while you can." And the Nashville Rage verifies the bands claims stating that "The Pink Spiders are, in fact, taking over."

The Pink Spiders are now the newest band on Pennsylvania’s CI Records (the Juliana Theory, Sense Field, Onelinedrawing) with a debut full length release titled “Hot Pink” due out in retail stores nationwide on November 16th, 2004 through Lumberjack Distribution. And while the current state of music both underground and mainstream has left many jaded, one listen to the Pink Spiders will make you a believer.
