The Pirate Signal

The Pirate Signal is a three-man musical entity that orginated in Denver, Colorado. Consisting of Yonnas the MC/Producer chief songwriter for the group, DJ A-What, turntablist and co-producer along with Joey Kuvo audio engineer and co-producer.
Orginally named by an ex-member of the group, The Pirate Signal started as an underground tape movement in Denver and through the mission statement ,"This is not who we are, it's what we do", became so much more than either.
"You see, the difference is, The Pirate Signal is not just a rap group, or a production team, or a band or session musicians or any one set protoype. It is the new prototype, that of a musical entity as a home that houses and fosters multiple endeavors at once. The prototype to all the great hip-hop artists before that distinctly created a different sound and were able to make that sound a culture that everything began to feed off, like Organized Noize or Dr. Dre or Timbaland or Marley Marl and DJ Premier. It's bigger than anyone of us. As of now it is a rap group with ambitious tendancies and minimal resources but as time progresses no one will be able to have any scope of the things we can and will become."
