"was given the pleasure of reviewing the new single to underground sensation Pleasure Mob"

I was given the pleasure of reviewing the new single to underground sensation Pleasure Mob's debut single So Hard. When I saw the words slice of alternative synth pop-rock with dark lyrical undertones and rock, dance, electro I was skeptical to say the least. However I was more than pleasantly surprised when I actually listened to the song, what a revelation! - Noise Collective

"Coming on like a funkier, and (thank God) more restrained Gossip"

Gill Mill's of Best Of Myspace, described the band as "Coming on like a funkier, and (thank God) more restrained Gossip there’s elements of deeper influences there that lift this above the usual punk/funk/dance hybrids out there. - Best Of Myspace

"Pleasure Mob"

"Pleasure Mob are a strange beast in these hard, cooler-than-thou times; taking the aloof cool of art school indie, but marrying it to the soulful howl of Led Zep. Less the mess it sounds, these are tunes where clinical beats betray an actual heart, not an emotionless carbon copy. A blast from a past that shows retro doesn't mean standing around on the edge of a dancefloor with your hands in your f**king pockets."

- Ruth Booth Rock Midgets

"Dance-Rock!!"

"2009’s dance-rock diamond in rough, Pleasure Mob have something out of reach for most current bands; relevance with credibility. Rock riff tradition and digital rhythm are no longer mutually exclusive. If you value new music you'll be going to a riff-disco made by Pleasure Mob".
- DAVID LEONARD (Tiscali Music)

Pleasure Mob are London based indie electro-rock band formed in 2009 by Douglas Hall & Nathan Von Boventer.

Playing a mix of New Wave & soulful Indie Electro, Pleasure Mob have had some critical successes with positive reviews & endorsements from blogs and websites including Noise collective[1], NME and Telegraph.co.uk

In 2010 they started their own label RMSMB Records and released several songs through distributor AWAL including "So Hard" and "Where's My Money" featuring the voice of Peter Dickson.

They were also included on Centrepoint's Key To Change album release which featured other artists including Ian Brown and Johnny Marr.

Sarah Champion of Absolute Radio is a fan of Pleasure Mob's track Diamonds. Recently stating on The Unsigned Band Review that:

"The appeal is instant with this track, experimental / funky / disco / rock with vocals a little Squeeze-esque in places (which is a GREAT thing in my book!)"

Gill Mill's of Best Of Myspace, described the band as

"deeper [with] influences that lift this above the usual punk/funk/dance hybrids out there."

Promoter Keir Mills of Bloody Awful Poetry also said of the band:

"Combining the pure pop perfection o, with the filthy intelligence of LCD Soundsystem, 3 piece electro rock outfit Pleasure Mob create hand clenching, fist pumping, foot stomping anthems that loom larger than life over the sum of their parts. A blast from the majestical past, where anthemic choruses were sagaciously constructed and expertly executed rather than whimsicaly thrown up to save a sub-standard song, we wholeheartedly expect Pleasure Mob to tear away the floorboards and blast the slats off the roof. Hold on to what you can, and enjoy the ride.”

Pleasure Mob have played various gigs across the UK and London including venues such as Barfly, Camden Proud, The Macbeth, The Rhythm Factory, The Garage etc.

In 2010 they were showcased on BBC Introducing and performed their track Diamonds.

In 2011 they signed to The Brave Agency run by Damien Morgan who also looks after well know live and DJ talent like Terry Hall, ex-Smiths Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke, Jez and Andy from Doves, through to Mark Morriss from The Bluetones, Dodgy and current acts Guillemots and Moshi Moshi records.
In May 2011 they will re-release tracks “Where’s My Money” & “So Hard” through independent label EmRay Emure Records on the 23rd May 2011. Availability digitally through Amazon & other retailers.

They plan to release a free EP through their website late summer feature underground remix sensation ‘Diamonds’. It will be available for 6 hours through their website for fans only.

They are currently recording their debut album co-produced by Teitur Arnason from Iceland super group Blindfold.
