The Poly-Opto

Consisting of five good friends who love to indulge their improvisational whims with blaring guitars and rhythmic drums, The Poly- Opto is “a roaring hydra” of evolving musical visions. Virginia Beach locals: Drew Orton, Jordan Parker, and Mike Johnson founded the band in December 2006 under the name Thundercock. A year later Matthew Rogers, former drummer of Closer, joined the band and almost completed the ensemble with his unique mix of world music, percussion, and the haunting sounds of the musical saw. It wasn't until Ryan Chandler former vocalist for the Flash cast Joined that the band became a whole. Now with fresh ideas and more imagination it was only appropriate that the name be changed to The Poly- Opto meaning many visions. The Poly- Opto is extremely passionate about creating a unique sound that expresses their musical vision. With their extremely high energy and breath taking live performances, the band has quickly begun to develop a following that is as energetic and devoted as the band itself.
