"The Possibles Live"

And so to the headline act, The Possibles. Now I might have been living under a rock for I don’t know how long but I hadn’t heard of these guys. As they took to stage, I was imagining a harder rock tinged sound with loads of dirty riffs and power chord galore. Dressed all in black apart from Jamie McClelland – Keys player (did someone forget to tell him?), these boys all looked like they were ready to give us some earbleeding rock. Well, they didn’t. But they definitely did rock! As soon as David Moore (lead vocals) started singing the first song, instantly you were taken back to the drug fuelled 1980’s era of Joy Division madness. So much was the likeness between them, I started worrying this was going to end up a tribute to long lost days of the last major financial downturn. When big hair and shoulder pads ruled the catwalks and Smash Hits was a prerequisite of being a pre teen. My worries were shifted by the third song as other influences started creeping through. A bit of 90’s grunge here, a touch of British rock and roll there. This band are distinctly familiar from the first time you hear them. Special mention goes out to Callum Hughes (drums) who can bash those skins hard and fast. His technique is a rare talent and compliments the bands musicality perfectly. I also love the anti-hero image of Dave Moore. His unassuming and somewhat introvert persona is strangely intriguing and adds to what I can only describe as the whole ‘’weirdness’’ of this band (but in a good way). I would like to see this band again in front of a full house as I imagine they could blow your socks off if given the chance.

"CKCU 93.1 FM (Radio EP Review)"

"The Possibles combine all the best elements of punk rock, New Wave, grunge, and garage rock, while creating an energetic, contemporary sound of their very own. Their debut EP of music should appeal to underground audiophiles and mainstream audiences alike! They come from the same home town as The Beatles, now they may not be as big as them yet but give it time; im sure they have the potential to reach that level one day"

Bio

We are a five piece Post/Punk band from Liverpool England; we formed in 2010 and have been growing stronger ever since. We have a very different sound from what’s going on in Liverpool at the moment, we like to make people think more and feel are music than just see it as another band just making a ‘noise’ we hope to make a massive impact on the music scene in 2012. Are attendance and fan count is growing by the gig and our sets are becoming a lot more interactive with our audience. We see each gig as a competition with the others bands, we always strive to perform better and always bring the largest number of fans. We have played a handful of gigs around Liverpool and are very selective about the gigs we do.

We are entering the studio in the next week, (Jan 23rd) and are spending 1 full week to record our EP which will be self released in March.
