"Week in Pop: Black City Lights, Coloured Clocks, Ferns, Friend Roulette, The Post Nobles"

Get a listen to The Post Nobles. The Long Island band of brothers, Denis and Kieran O'Leary, and their buddies Andrew Knox and Ricky Berotti make cheerful, brain twisting songs for all seasons on the recently debuted self-titled EP. Trying on different styles, the creed and band sound ethos revolves around making each day sound like it should be it's own holiday. Mixing up titular 'tunes' for 'toons'; the Nobles summon the summertime SPF 15 glow with "Summer Toons" where you will have the catchy and eternal chorus of, "I like the moon and the tune in the spring and the skies when they're blue, I like the moon and the tune in the spring..." stuck forever in your head. "Voices in the Night" shows off their balladeering side, while the "everybody clap your hands and be happy" mantra of "Happy Song" gives electrified reasons to rally against bummer vibes. "Nickel and Dime" features more clap along bravado with "crash and burn, baby" invitations. Keeping their eyes fixed on the sky, "March of the Mutants (Sunlights in the Sky)" shows a little more of what these young dudes are capable of on the EP's longest cut. Keeping you waiting for the follow up full-length, the closer "Outro" delves into The Post Nobles' greater electro nobilities. Denis took the time to respond to our inquiries into the group's development and passion for fun-loving, upbeat music.

"As for writing the songs, we've never really had a specific style or method I suppose, the tracks from the EP came from our initial creations as we were beginning to bring everything together...I guess it's been a solid three years now that our ideas for The Post Nobles started to come about. They've gone through several phases since those days, and they'll probably go through several more to be honest. A lot of our earlier stuff (earlier to us, most of it is still unreleased at this point) grew out of the twisted brainchildren of myself (Denis) and my brother (Kieran), but now that we're all together we're making a lot more more full band, jam-oriented stuff headed by Andrew and Ricky. Both ideas of songwriting are equally awesome and challenging, but we don't plan on limiting ourselves to any one method in the future. That's the basic gist of it I suppose, we're just trying to get a fun-loving, positive message to as many people as we can. Anyway, we have sooo much music to release and we're putting together as many summer dates as we can, so stay tooned for more info and updates! You can find us on Facebook, Soundcloud, and Bandcamp. - Impose Magazine

Their self-titled EP is a quick snippet of what these four are truly capable of. With such an easy going sound, it’s not hard to cruise through this album and be left with only wanting more.

"The Post Nobles :: Summer Toons"

So maybe you’ve (I certainly haven’t, but still…) grown tired of the whimsicality of Wild Nothing/Craft Spells bands, the brattiness of Nathan Williams, or are merely always on the lookout for quality (as I am) sun-soaked pop. Whichever state you happen to be in, as the latest ambassadors of (hehe) summer tunes, The Post Nobles will happily resolve your search for you.

The Post Nobles make no effort to hide the summer-influence which abounds in their music. Rather, they openly and proudly bear the flag of summer with their EP opener titled “Summer Toons” and the song beginning with the sound of waves gently lapping against the shore. “Summer Toons,” creating images of days filled with beaches, sun, and drives around town, lives up to its name. A gentle surf-rock guitar riff and singer Denis O’Leary’s fanciful vocals blend perfectly to lead the song . However, don’t make the presumption that The Post Nobles are a generic surf-rock band, as this would be absolutely incorrect. The atmospheric intro and bridge of “Summer Toons” gives you peer into the depth of sound present on their new EP, showing that more exists beyond their take on catchy guitar rock. Check out “Summer Toons” and if the vibes are good, grab the rest of their self-titled EP here. - newdust

"The Post Nobles - "Summer Toons""

The lead track of Long Island, NY band The Post Nobles’ new self-titled EP. The recent self titled release combines distorted and compressed drums with phat bass lines, phased distorted guitars and reverbed and dreamy vocals. The EP starts with the indie pop track “Summer Toons" which makes you want to lay on a beach and grab a corona or five. The music quickly deviates to "Voices in the Night" and "Nickel and Dime" which possesses a psychedelic outro that will invade your brain. - The Venom Blog

"From The Deli NYC's online music submissions: The Post Nobles"

If Panda Bear was just a little more like Stephen Malkmus and was on a weird spiritual journey, you might end up with The Post Nobles. A band that loves slacking in good weather as much as daydreaming, they put out a self-titled E.P. that carries a joy for the summer over wavy odes to good times ('Happy Song') and also offers the unexpected waves of 'March of the Mutants (Sunlight in the Sky),' a psychedelic trip that encapsulates a lot of surprises.

Of course, you can't really get the whole picture about the Long Island quartet without first digging their popular leading track 'Summer Toons' (streaming below), an ode to... well... summer and toons. This is sun-worshipping pop bliss. Bring a beach towel and get busy with the suntan lotion. - Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets) - The Deli NYC

Bio

The Post Nobles began as a small fragment of imagination in the minds of THE BROTHERS, Denis OLeary (Guitar/Vocals) and Kieran OLeary(Bass/Percussion). Back then they were two upcoming prodigies destined to be titans of THE SPORTSWORLDor maybe not so much. Either way music was always present throughout their youth, as Kieran and THE BEST FRIEND, Andrew Knox (Guitar/Synth), got hooked on some decades-old vinyls and Denis got really into the 90s (and luckily made it out alive)

Thus, the POST NOBLES were born! Using their ultra-superpowers, Denis, Kieran, and Andrew dedicated their lives to FIGHTING CRIME and the FORCES OF EVIL. But they still needed another

ENTER RICKY.

Ricky Berotti (Drums/Percussion) - Kierans longtime school friend, soccer sensation, and probable supervillain - joined up with the boys and it was complete. The journey had now officially begun. Throughout school holidays and SUMMER VACATIONS they learned and created and concocted their first material, which they released as a self-titled E.P. in April of 2013.

Musically, the Nobles influences span throughout the decades, as they combine a unique fusion of the past and the present to create a sound often described as neo-psychedelic, surf-pop bliss. Their music is a reflection of their youth spent on the LONG ISLAND COAST, falling in and out of love and longing for the SUMMER SUN.

This is the only the first chapter in THE NOBLE JOURNEY. There is much more to come from these Island Boys, so stay tooned
