Bio

The Preachers Blues Band is an eclectic mix of musicians that have been performing for well over 30 years each. We have the drive and passion to continue the great tradition of Blues music and mix it up with a funky, Rockin', Soulful groove.

The Preachers Blues Band has been shaking up the Local Club scene with it's Smoking Hot blend of Original music, to include traditional and contemporary classics. A real crowd pleaser, the Preachers Blues Band works very hard at reigning in the audience and making them feel like they are a part of the band.

Founder, Lead Vocalist and Harmonica player Rick Surrano has performed all over the country. A two time alumni of the Chicago Blues Festival with the Robert Charles Blues Band. Opened up at the Hard Rock Cafe in Memphis Tennessee with the Willie Pierce Blues Band. Drove the crowd wild at the Palace Theatre in Albany, N.Y. with The Nite Train Blues Band. Rocked the crowed in N.Y.C. at B.B. Kings Blues Club again with the Robert Charles Blues Band. Kick started the up and coming Blues Festival just outside of Newburgh, N.Y. opening up for Popa Chubby, Michael Hills Blues Mob, Saron Chrenshaw, and Michael Powers, with his band, The Preachers Blues Band. Not to mention creating all kinds of havoc and mayhem at various local clubs, up and down the East Coast.

Dean Kreplin, Lead and Rhythm guitar player for The Preachers has been there from the beginning. His love and passion for the Blues is second to none. His soulful, smokin' leads have been described as awe inspiring and will send most other players back to the wood shed to hone there skills. Dean has a zen like approach to his Rhythm style, making The Preachers Blues Band rise above the others. We don't call him, "Mean Dean", for nothing.

Mark Foy has been pounding the skins in the Northeast music scene for well over 30 years. His straight forward approach and dead on styling is the driving force behind, The Preachers sound.
Mark pushes the band to new heights at every gig.

Mick Persico is the Bass player in The Preachers. Mick has roots in Rock, Country, Funk, Blues. You name it, Mick has played it. His well rounded education of music shines through in his bass playing. One good night of listening to Micks bass thumping through the mix will have you shaking your head all night long.

Craig Keil, The Preachers Blues Band keyboard player has not stopped performing since he fell in love with his instrument at a very young age. Craig has performed with many national acts such as, The Neville Brothers, and Rory Block just to name a couple. Never one to sit back and just watch the band settle for a mediocre performance, Craigs hard driving keyboard stye pushes The Preachers to the next level. Craigs vocal harmonies are all we could ask for, making the bands Vocal presence much more powerful. Always keeping the band in the groove and on the move. We don't call him, "Killer", just for kicks.

Jefferson Kewley, aka, "The Big Man", Lead and Rhythm guitarist for the band, has toured all over the world with the likes of many great artist, Alice Cooper, Mac Davis, Neil Diamond, The Jerry Garcia Band, to name a few. Jeff as we so affectionately call him pulls his unique style from a mixed bag. A lover of classic soul and Rhythm & Blues, Jeffs rhythm shines through. From the hard driving Blues Rock sound to the Funky choppy nasty grooves, Jeffs stinging, screaming leads leave the audience wasted and screaming for more.

The Preachers Blues Band requires but one thing from the audiences that we perform for. Let loose and have fun. That's what we are about, that's what we strive for, for ourselves and our audience.
