Bio

Launching at the start of 2012 TPS are already well on their way to carving a name for themselves on the Manchester music scene. They have had airplay and live performances on BBC Manchester Radio, featured on BBC Introducing and performed at various prestigious venues throughout the UK.

The band have each had their own experience of the industry with Newcastle born Pannu moving to Manchester in 2010 and working her way up as an acclaimed hip-hop/soul vocalist and Tait having graduated from the Royal Northen College of Music. When these two musicians met and jammed together, The Pretty Shapes was immediately born, and through a mutual love of blending genres and profound lyricism it was only a matter of time before these two sparked off eachother and began on a musical journey that would take them all over the UK so far.

When they met at university in September 2011, a song writing bond was immediately apparent with Pannu’s hip-hop and pop background gelling beautifully with Tait's blues and rock style influences. They quickly combined talents to create a unique and devastatingly catchy set list of soulful pop tracks. From the enduring dark hook of 'Sober Love,' to the blues soaked hip-hop influences in 'Blue Blood’ and then the emotional and heart-felt 'The Long Wait,' these are tracks that are not only immediately familiar and exciting but absolutely worthy of the hype they are already generating. Now confidently working the Manchester scene, their live performances are fully loaded with energy and oozing the passion that only dedicated, talented musicians can convincingly portray.

Hoping to release their first EP later this year 'Tiger Pistol Shrimp' keep up to date with The Pretty Shapes via their Facebook, Soundcloud and Twitter.
