"Manteno Family Helps Produce Second Vans band."

The Projection’s first full-length CD, “Thanks for Caring” has an acoustic song about a girl named Jordan nestled in between rock and fast tempo punk pop cuts like “Punk Rawk Girl.” “Jordan,” featuring a harmonica intro, sounds like it would be sung around a campfire. - Jon Stewart of The Daily Journal Kankakee,IL

Bio

A fusion genre that combines elements of “punk rock” with “pop music” is the actual text book definition of “Pop-Punk Music”. Truer words were never spoken when it comes to a local band from Manteno, Illinois called; The Projection. Some of the Projection’s band members were just babies in the mid 90’s when breakthrough Pop Punk albums like “Dookie”(Green Day) “Smash” (The Offspring) and “Enema of the State” (Blink 182) were released. A good listen to any of the Projection recordings will show some of these strong influences. But the Projection has something else....something that grabs a hold of you right away. They are 4 very diverse and talented young men, each with their own unique style and musical agenda that somehow all falls in together. The mix becomes great song, killer tones, gentle and sometimes abrupt storyfilled lyrics, and an energy that moves across their stages like an electrical current. When Jacques Lamore guitarist/singer/songwriter yells “everybody jump”....you jump! The Projection by any and all definition is Electric.

Jacques LaMore singer/songwriter/guitarist for the band has every intention of obtaining his musical goals...to see it all through...to be that “all around” performer and songwriter that he’s put over 5 years into already, at the ripe old age of 18. “ I bring everything I have to this band, my songs, my voice, even my friendship. Every dime I have goes to this band, so in about 2 years I’d like to see us out and touring. I’d like to see a little “pay-back”. The Projection labored for over a year working at Wolves Den Recording Studio and released their first full length CD, “Thanks For Caring”. “We couldn’t be happier with the record, Jacques says, we all worked hard on it and it’s something Ill be proud of forever”.

The age group varies in the band , but the youngest is new-comer Brett Buttle. At just 16 years old, Brett’s guitar style is quite ahead of his time. His licks, tones, and even stage presence scream “rock-star” at every turn. Bret boasts Eric Clapton and the Beatles as major influences on his guitar playing as well as musical tastes. As far as the stage is concerned Brett says, “I try to liven up every show by jumping all around as much as physically possible”. So far....Bret seems to have found a comfortable home with The Projection and looks forward to recording their next record and playing as many shows as possible...that’s an awful lot of jumping around!

Matt McWilliams has played bass for over 4 years, but is quite accomplished on guitar, vocals, and drums. Matt’s music goals are long term.....”I really want to start my education with recording music and playing as many shows as I can”. Matt says he has strong musical opinions and a strong bond of friendship with everyone in the band. “ I would like to see The Projection having as much fun in the future as we are right now, but with a much better understanding of everything that we’re doing”. Every young band should pay attention to these young words of wisdom.

Austins double kick jet engines have led the Projection into some very thunderous shows. Playing drums for over 9 years will do that to you. With influences as precise as Buddy Rich, Austin says “ Id like to learn to relax more on stage and play fluently. The release of “Thanks For Caring” has catapulted the Projection into the next level of the musical beyond. It seems like the band is working very steady with solid bookings, some great reviews, a larger fan base, and even a slot on this years “2008 Vans Warped Tour” in Noblesville,IN. Also, the boys have recently signed with an indie label known as Tate Music Group and plan on recording their second record with them in the summer of 2009. For a young band (some still in High-School), The Projection has already carved their notch in the “Punk-Pop” genre. This is not a band to “watch out for”...these guys are already here and have been...so start listening!
