"The Radiance Effect’s Wake The Forgotten Released on Kikstart Records September 30th"

Nashville, TN, Oct 15, 2008—The debut CD, Wake The Forgotten from Kikstart Records’ The Radiance Effect released on September 30th through Infinity Music Distribution.

With The Radiance Effect, there are no pretentious costumes. There's no gimmick, just a raw passion that shows itself in their confidence and their insatiable appetite to connect with people and inspire change. Hailing from Springfield, MO, The Radiance Effect is comprised of five guys on a mission to change the world, one perspective at a time. Corey, Craig, Hoss, Kurtis and Ben have spent the last two years touring, recording, and spreading the movement that is The Radiance Effect.

The debut album, Wake the Forgotten, is a 14-song LP that defines the band collectively and individually. With each member influenced by different styles of musical backgrounds and a variety of genres, they confess it was difficult finding the sound they wanted the world to know them by. Throughout the entire creative process, they sought to give the album a continuous feel while allowing for and capturing the variety of styles each member possesses. Aggressive, dynamic vocal performances fill the lyrics with sincere emotions in an almost confessional nature. The skillful pairing of charismatic melodies and magnetic wordplay invites audiences to easily relate. Wake the Forgotten bears a certain excitement and vitality with its vigorous rhythms, catchy vocals, and driving percussion that boasts a chemistry of originality ignited within The Radiance Effect.

The Radiance Effect performs well over 200 shows a year, taking them through 30-35 states in 2008 alone. Covering over 100,000 miles of America is a feat that boasts more than dedication, it’s a lifestyle. And the resulting familiarity of the band members comes across on stage. Clearly comfortable with one another, the ensemble is tight and precise, yet there is undeniably a synergy within the band that lends a lot of freedom to make each night’s performance unique. Fond of engaging crowds, even the mere dynamic of the band invites audiences to share in the atmosphere they create. Through powerful lyrics that explore the dark and light of the human experience, The Radiance Effect depicts life as the emotional rollercoaster everyone identifies with by simply being human.

Understanding their purpose is what feeds The Radiance Effect’s hunger to be heard. In the entertainment industry, where artists take pride in wealth, fame and scandal, this band is indicative of that rare exception to the norm- a band that is for the people, not for themselves. Believing the effects of the media have left a damaging impression on future generations is what fuels the band’s desire to open up the eyes of those who believe they’ve already received what life has in store for them. The Radiance Effect seeks to offer people a new perspective of looking at life in their effort to influence a change in our culture. They are using music to spread a message of hope to a society they believe is not too far gone to collectively change for the better.

“Imagine an empty room with no windows and no doors. If it’s dark, it’s completely dark. But say you flipped on a light. Then it becomes completely light. There are no shadows, and nothing to stop that light from shining… The idea of The Radiance Effect is to be something you can’t just turn off.”
